  1. They must have changed something since Monday. It was the same old board on Sunday but when I got back to civilization (a computer) yesterday it looked a bit different. I'm not real familiar with message boards and the technical stuff, but there is some yuku stuff on the main page. So I'm assuming it's yuku and no longer ezboard.
  2. That's your reaction to everything. Just take it easy, man. That's your answer to everything, dude. Sorry, read that post and all I could think of was Big Lebowski. Looking forward to another crazy game at Wrigley tomorrow. I'm sure it will be a wild one, Brewers-Cubs always give us fans at least that.
  3. They need real competition  My best friend is a big Cub fan, and we always get into friendly arguments. Whenever the Brewers win he says the exact same thing.
  4. Sorry to burst your bubbles guys, but the Brewers just took a 5-4 lead. Bases loaded w/ nobody out, Weeks hits a single to right that somehow gets by Luke Scott. All three runners score.
  5. Well I'm not freaking out or anything. I am just starting to feel a bit let down, or the same feeling I've had the past couple of years when they've had OK starts.
  6. The only team the Brewers are beating right now is themselves. I was hoping I wouldn't be let down this year, but it looks that way right now. I knew that this team wasn't going to stay on the pace it was in the first 34 games when they were 24-10. But I also expected them to not go 10-24 in their next 34 which they seem content on doing.
  7. Hey brewers fan, quick question. Why isn't Sheets K'ing anyone? He learned that not only are strike outs boring, they're fascist. Ground and fly balls are more democratic. Though he still gives up too many of those communist homerun balls. In all seriousness, Ben needs to develop a 3rd pitch IMO. His fastball doesn't quite have the same zip it had in 2004, and he's not locating as well as he was then. He hasn't had a great curveball either since the start of the season, and even on opening day he didn't have great stuff, but the Dodgers were swinging at everything.
  8. Pujols sounding like a jerk? No way! He's probably just sour that A-Rod is having a better start than he is.
  9. It's about time. As a Brewer fan - a lurker/occasional poster here - I'm still skeptical about Weeks. We've had such rotten luck with our minor leaguers it's hard to get too excited. I just want him to play a full season. But so far he looks a heckuva lot better than the last few seasons, and I've been more impressed with his defense if you guys can believe that.
  10. At least 3, maybe more. I'm not completely familiar with the process, and I can't remember if he went through arbitration last year. I don't believe he did, I think this was his first year of arby. And dew, I think the Brewers believe he can play SS just fine. They just want to see him improve with his bat. A lot of Brewer fans hope that he can play like his post All-Star game 2005 when he hit for most of his power and hit over .300. It looks like they're willing to work him into at least an average hitter while taking his above average D at SS.
  11. I think they actually plan on using him in CF, where his value will be high but not quite as high as it would be if he played SS. Isn't Hall suspect at best defensively at short? I seem to remember him being pretty weak-perhaps they think he'll be better in CF thus raising his overall value? When he first came up he was kind of a butcher there, but he was pretty reliable last season. He's a great overall athlete, so maybe Melvin thinks he can be a better CF, or the best option that the team has since they seem pretty committed to Hardy at SS.
  12. I think they actually plan on using him in CF, where his value will be high but not quite as high as it would be if he played SS.
  13. Yeah, there was a time when Taveras was up and he barely got a piece of the ball and hit it off the wall. Any other park that would have been an out and that turned out to be a crucial run in the game. I pity any team that has to play at MMP, might as well play at Lamade stadium where the LLWS is played.
  14. Not to derail this thread further, but did anybody see Tino Martinez's debut on Baseball Tonight about a week or so ago? I'm not sure if it was the deer-in-the-headlights look or his stilted delivery, but either way he quickly became my least favorite new guy to be added to ESPN's payroll. Why isn't an Eric Karros or AL Leiter taking Kruk or Reynolds place on that set? I saw that, the Tino Martinez debut, boy that was real hard to watch. He sounds about as bad as the Anheiser-Busch commercial guy "some beers are brewed for taste, some are brewed for... etc etc" that guy is about as boring as they come, with Tino coming in at a close second. Out of all the Baseball Tonight guys, I tend to like Jeff Brantley the most. He seems fairly knowledgeable and he says whatever is on his mind, though I don't always agree with it. It's nice to hear someone speak their mind. I remember a game last year where he was pissing and moaning about Ozzie Guillen not bringing in Dustin Hermanson and he ended up being right about it and he kept going on and on.
  15. I think they are pretty high on Wilson Betemit at third, I'm sure he'll see any time that Jones will miss. I don't know much about Betemit or Marte, all I know was that Marte sounded like a stud. Betemit had a pretty good 2005 in limited action. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=4968
