  1. Did Colvin just rob a HR or something? Gameday shows the out dot over the fence.
  2. Well there goes the relief that we had for the cap going up next year. That really really hurts us. I think we were like 7 million over next years cap with only 13 players signed. Now we're like 8.3 million over, so we have to get rid of 8.3 million, in addition to clearing more space to fill up the team. That 1.3 million might be the difference between someone like Sharp or Buff or Versteeg being on next years team. Meh. Versteeg is good, but you can get that production for about as much. He was terrible for about a 10 week stretch in the middle of the season. As long as the guys who are already signed long term as well as Sharp and Seabroook and Buff are around, they'll be fine. Guys like Ladd and Versteeg are expendable.
  3. If that happens, the remaining Big 12 could merge with the MWC and add Boise State and actually not be terrible. They wouldn't get any revenue through TV, but could be competitive as a 16 team league. East: Mizzou, Iowa State, Kansas, K-State, Baylor, TCU, Colorado State, Air Force West: Texas Tech, Boise State, Utah, BYU, UNLV, San Diego State, New Mexico, Wyoming
  4. If that happens, why wouldn't Big 12 just get TCU and someone else decent and call it a wash (Arkansas maybe)? Because a team like Texas couldn't already care less about teams like Baylor, KSU, ISU, etc. They're not interested in a more watered down conference. Wouldn't TCU and Arkansas be better than all of those teams though, at least in football?
  5. If that happens, why wouldn't Big 12 just get TCU and someone else decent and call it a wash (Arkansas maybe)?
  6. Walt Jocketty not nearly as dumb as Jim Hendry: Reds general manager Walt Jocketty isn’t ready to turn to left-lander Aroldis Chapman to be part of the bullpen solution. Jocketty seemed at least open to looking at Edinson Volquez in that role when Volquez returns from rehab for “Tommy John” surgery.
  7. Which of these 2 scenarios seem more unlikely at the current time? Carlos Silva winning 20 games OR Ubaldo Jiminez winning 30 games If either one of these happen, the world might just explode, but it could make for an interesting bet.
  8. Will be followed by a botched squeeze and a would have been sac fly, inning ending flyout by Colvin.
  9. The guest conductor tradition ran its course some time ago Ya, like in May of 1998.
  10. That's bad karma Hopefully so is Lou's terrible managing.
  11. Is Lou even awake? Lilly has thrown 97 pitches and started struggling the past few innings yet he leads off the inning batting? I'm sure he'll be lifted after the first batter in the bottom of the inning. Die, Lou.
  12. He's going to have to be a #1 starter with Cashner and Jackson in the pen now. I hate the [expletive] Cubs. When is Ricketts going to step in and hire someone with some intelligence?
  13. Ha, this game should be big in Indianapolis as the starters are Ely and Lilly. Spelling is off, but they may have been able to get some sort of corporate sponsorship out of this one...
  14. Combined with the excessive raise in ticket prices. Hopefully they are realizing that they have the Golden Goose, but the Golden Eggs aren't endless. If they keep sucking and raising prices, they aren't going to sell out most April, May, and September games.
  15. Soto would be justified with murder of Piniella.
  16. A 3-0 pitch and you just groove it. [expletive] you Dempster, just walk him.
  17. Looks like he just missed a HR last time up as well. Nice to see his hot streak not completely tailing off.
  18. Well not to be a Soto apologist, but in that span he has narrowly missed 2 HR and was a victim of the worst called strike 3 I've ever seen. Really wish someone had a GIF of that. He's also had some rockets right at people. I wonder what his LD% is over that time frame? I would imagine it is very respectable.
  19. He'll show the real Grabow in the next inning.
  20. Grabow proving the blind squirrel/nut theory. What the hell was that?
