  1. five quality starts in a row for lilly going into tonight
  2. True, but 35 through 2 with the pitcher due to leadoff isn't unmanagable. If he gets through this inning with just 10 pitches, that's an average of 15 per, and a 7 inning/105 pitch outing. Pretty good. 58 thru 4 for Hill, not a bad pace. Not at all. I think we've just all been spoiled by Hill lately
  3. Adam Kennedy gets thrown out at 2nd by a good 10 feet. The announcers are trying to not rip the crap out of the Cards, but it's apparently getting hard not to.
  4. how'd he know hancock? college teammates Hudson could rake at Auburn
  5. Oh, I definitely admit that I and others actively look for things to complain about with ESPN. No denying that. But, here's the thing. I'm NOT watching it. I chose Fox over their broadcast because they're going to focus more on the game than the sensationalist drama which ESPN is going to handle quite well I'm sure. My point is that Fox's local station, and the mothership ESPN, have different goals in airing this game. And that's why I give Fox a pass, and think ESPN is BS.
  6. btw - Thanks for the pbp, navigator - and to anyone else doing it!
  7. Kip Wells looks really, really bad. It's debatable how much of his focus is there, but...wow this is like, glendon rusch bad.
  8. Fielder demolishes one for a moon shot, 4-1 Brewers.
  9. Why are the google ads I see for ARY Limousine service? Yea, I'm going to be using that sometime soon.
  10. this is newsworthy. You people are following the Cardinals game and talking about how they seem to not have their heads in the game, so if you think ESPN showing the game and talking about Hancock is pathetic, then you should probably stop talking about it too. But if you're interested in this game, don't you think other people are too? I guess the major news networks shouldn't have covered 9/11, Katrina and the tsunami so thoroughly... after all, people died and they were making ratings money off those people. are you drunk? or just being stupid? I don't think he's either of those, it's just his opinion. And my opinion is WOW is he wrong.

Not to hijack our game thread - but I'd make the easy argument that us discussing it privately on the internet is NOT THE SAME as nationally televising it to millions of people.
  12. Now into the game, Hideki Ira..Irba..Irab...the pitcher!
  13. Cardinals score a run on a Duncan RBI single (Eckstein)
  14. freddy is such a fantasy league dog so far
  15. Off topic, but I'm still sort of surprised Cedeno didn't start today. If not today, what's the point? GIVE US FONTENOT
  16. Alternatively, they could just put Joe Morgan and Dusty Baker together, and give them a microphone for a few hours.
  17. I was hoping for some WSOP reruns, actually.
  18. its too bad espn has this game on because now the entire country has to watch them...plus, then they get espn running it into the ground and talkin about it over and over I'm watching them on Fox's Missouri channel, which is only because it's baseball, and..it's the only baseball on TV. I agree, Cardinals should not be on ESPN tonight. No way. right if i were at school id def have FSN midwest on...not that it matters cuz i have it muted but i just dont think espn should have this Yup. The local fans will want to watch the game regardless, but why the hell would ESPN pick this/stay with this for a national broadcast? I don't know if I'm being anal or what, but it seems really unclassy to me. And zooming in on Spezio and dissecting his attitude while he's obviously in emotional pain? Come on.

  20. He's on another planet. He just forgot to cover first, and *barely* made it.
  21. Why do they have to be playing the one team that I want them to beat? Milwaukee doesn't look special or anything, St. Louis just doesn't look like they want to be on the field. I know Spezio asked out of the lineup already; they showed him in the dugout and he looked to be halfway to tears. Really sucks, I feel bad for them.
  22. In the other game, St. Louis looks awful. Kip Wells just threw the ball into the seats behind 1B, then KEVIN MENCH steals 3rd because no ones paying attention, then Wells BALKS him home. Wow. 3-0 Milwaukee
