  1. listen, i don't know what you want me to say. yes, it could have been worse. he could have given up 11 runs instead of 5 and he could have stabbed carlos marmol or killed a baby. good job, marquis on not being worse. :)
  2. this is like the "marquis isn't so bad for a fifth starter argument." he has a remarkable ability to pitch so poorly that people's expectations go down and anything better than complete disaster is fine. he sucks. i think he meant it could have been worse. which fits exactly with what i was saying. so what you expected him to give up 8 or 9 runs today.... what are looking for. he gave up 5 runs in the first 2 innings then went scoreless in 3 1/3, which means it could have been worse... It's impossible to please abuck. it's impossible to please me by allowing 5 runs in 5 1/3 innings, yes. i'm also not pleased with a $100 mil that hovers around .500. sorry. fine I hear ya, but what does that have to do with the incredibly accurate comment that "it could have been worse" when it came to marquis game today? We're on track to lose, and a loss is a loss. So what if it could have been worse? We would just have lost by more. it matters right now

  6. today, this week, this month.... the story of august.
  7. Do you post here only to laugh at people that aren't blindly optimistic? More like post here to laugh at the obnoxious pessimists. How old are you? We aren't pessimists, more like realists. Optimists are obnoxious. Meanwhile, Marquis needs to hit the showers and the waiver wire fast. What does age have to do with anything? And realists? Are you kidding me? How many times has the season been over already? How many times have we seen the Cubs tank their playoff chances? How many times have we seen the Cubs tank even if they manage to make the playoffs? Losses=Tanks got it.
  8. i didnt write that you fraud. I am not a marquis fan by any stretch but he isnt below average at all OMG JACQUE!!!! WHAT A PLAY I'm pretty sure his ERA+ proves he's the definition of below average. what is his era+? 110 this year isnt 110 techinically above average? Yes. 100 is average for all pitchers, and people have put the average ERA + for starters (as relievers typically have better ERA's then starters) at 90-95. Marquis' career ERA+ is 96. So he's basically the epitome of an average starter, and he's been a little above average so far this year. but techinically I wasnt wrong and thats what I like to hear.
  9. Steve Stricker baby!!!! Wisconsin 4 Life!!! now back to the stupid cobs

  11. the best part about that game was that there was 10000 people left in the stadium after the rain delay, and we got to move down to the third base line, best seats I ever had at that time.

  14. Didn't Eric Young do it back in 2001? Corey did it in 2001. I thought CP didn't come up until 2002. it was his first home run, rainy night in milwaukee. i was there. we still lost though
  15. He sure picked a good time to be off. yeah last start was quality so... here we are
  16. since july, marquis has pitched a quality start every other game he has been in.
  17. baseball players... should brynes really have been there, I mean that was a nasty bounce.
