    At this point, that's a bad thing. But the Cards losing to the Phillies is a good thing. The Phils need to keep the pressure on San Diego to make the Padres' games in Milwaukee meaningful.

    From Sunday's Newark Star-Ledger: the Cubs are considering bringing up Jeff Samardzija when rosters expand Sept. 1.     Far be it from me to defend KW, but he has proven to be a very good trader, not afraid to take risks. Also, if a Salty, Andrus, et. al. deal were offered, KW probably would have given Atlanta anyone on the Sox's 40-man.
