  1. Dubois for Gerut for Lawton for Berg. Hendry sure took the roundabout way of getting this guy. Perhaps this was the master plan all along. I believe Berg starts tomorrow in Peoria. No, he won't. Angel Guzman will start with Berg piggybacking in Beloit tomorrow. This will happen again on Sunday in Peoria. I thought it was a doubleheader. That's what I thought? Guzman in the first game, Berg in the second? I could be wrong...........
  2. Why are there ties in peoples all-time record then? Raw is 169-144-2 all-time, Budcrew is 179-135-1, Bulb's are 123-191-1, Lynx is 157-157-1, an NC Cubbies are 90-224-1. Are those not accurate?

So he's an A level starter....Thanks...that's quite a bit more than I knew 10 min ago...It'd be nice if he projected to a 1/2 way decent player or could be traded for one. He's 6'3" 195 lbs. 5. Actually, in 2003 the Budcrew tied w/ NC Cubbies. It shows up on the overall records in the Breakdown section of the Standings. GO BULBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I'll score 500 pts this week and it'll be a none issue.............
  6. Great! So Buddiga needs to lose and I need to win, or we both win but I have to score 450 pts for the week.
  7. I believe it's top 3, not 4 (not that it affects my team either way). I looked back at last years schedule and it seems as if the 2 high seeds played the 4th best in round 1. I wasn't in the playoffs, so I didn't really concern myself w/ it, but I thought it was 4? If you look at last year, the bottom 4 teams in each division played each other throughout the playoffs, the top 4, I assumed where in the playoffs?!?!? That would suck if I didn't make it in with the runs I've put together in the last 2 months. If this is true.................GO BULBS!!!!!!
  8. The score showed as a tie, but the standings reflect a loss for Raw. From the league rules page: Scoring: Head-to-Head, Points Based System. Ties go to the team with better XBH. Scoring based on total stats each period.
  9. The score showed as a tie, but the standings reflect a loss for Raw.
  10. BTW, I'm a HUGE Bulbs fan this week! I'd love to pull one out vs Raw and snag 3rd in the East.
  11. DB Coopers Flyers ( 11-10 ) at El Scorcho ( 9-12 ) Quakers ( 9-12 ) at Alamo Stealth ( 9-12 ) Passion of the Matt ( 6-15 ) at Lynx ( 14-7 ) Danger Bees ( 9-12 ) at Northside Baseball ( 21-0 ) Harrys Budcrew ( 12-9 ) at Raw Dawgs ( 10-11 ) Buddiga ( 12-9 ) at Burning 'Bulbs ( 8-13 ) Skeletons of Society ( 6-15 ) at NC Cubbies ( 4-17 ) Galesburg Hand Sanitizers ( 13-8 ) at Tootielicious ( 15-6 ) East Division Team W L T PCT GB Strk **Tootielicious 15 6 0 0.714 0 L2 *Galesburg Hand Sanitizers 13 8 0 0.619 2 W2 *Buddiga 12 9 0 0.571 3 W2 *Harrys Budcrew 12 9 0 0.571 3 W4 Raw Dawgs 10 11 0 0.476 5 L1 Burning 'Bulbs 8 13 0 0.381 7 W1 Skeletons of Society 6 15 0 0.286 9 L3 NC Cubbies 4 17 0 0.190 11 L2 West Division Team W L T PCT GB Strk **Northside Baseball 21 0 0 1.000 0 W21 *Lynx 14 7 0 0.667 7 W4 *DB Coopers Flyers 11 10 0 0.524 10 W1 Quakers 9 12 0 0.429 12 L1 Alamo Stealth 9 12 0 0.429 12 L8 Danger Bees 9 12 0 0.429 12 L1 El Scorcho 9 12 0 0.429 12 W1 Passion of the Matt 6 15 0 0.286 15 L2 ** - Clinched Division (In Playoffs) * - Clinched Playoff Berth I believe this is correct. Top 4 out of each division get in. That would mean the only spot open is a 4 way battle between Quakers, Alamo, Bees, and El Scorcho. I have no idea who has the H2H between all of those, but El Scorcho leads all 4 in points scored.
  12. I still say instead of Zito, Burnett, or Santana....the Cubs should go after Matt Morris. It's a case of addition plus subtraction for the Cards. He'd still be in the NL Central so he knows the teams, no adjustment time. You'd have: Prior Wood Z Morris Maddux It would also allow you to trade Williams, Hill, and/or Rusch to help fill LF/RF.
  13. Maybe, but until we win a World Series, I'm still mad at Alex Gonzalez bobbling that double play ball. I'm still upset that Baker didn't go out and round-up the troops after the Bartman play. I still can't fathom why he didn't go out and talk to everyone.
  14. I can't tell you how great this score feels this week! I thought for sure you'd be up going into Friday morning, but I came out on top which was a HUGE difference in the match-up. I believe, w/ a Raw loss............I'm in, right? Or do I have to beat Raw next week? I think that will put me up 2 games on him going into the last week. I didn't quite beat NSBB last week for high points.........came in a close second, but I think my team pulled it out this week. I'm going to be in the 380s.
  15. I think Wrigley would be alot better park then out in SD. I think he's alot better player then Burnitz. Burnitz has put up ok numbers, but I don't think he's a 7 million/yr guy........which is what his option is for next year.
  16. News: The San Francisco Giants traded outfielder Michael Tucker to the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday for minor league right-hander Kelvin Pichardo. "Right now I don't think a whole lot takes me by surprise," said Tucker, who found out about the deal within minutes of the Giants' 2-1 win over the New York Mets. "He's a veteran bat off the bench," Phillies assistant general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said in Phoenix after his club's 2-0 loss to the Diamondbacks. "He's a guy who can drive the ball, get the ball out of the ball park. It's nice to be able to have a guy who's a professional hitter, a guy who's been around the league and understands that role. We think he's going to help us."
  17. I understand your point. And I hope that Barrett improves defensively. This team needs to make some changes before 2006 starts, I just don't think that moving the 28 yr old best offensive catcher in the NL is one of them. Would it help to fire Dusty and hire Joe Girardi? Joe was a defensive catcher, maybe he could help!
  18. I agree the season is done, but what's a more prudent move: rewarding a career minor leaguer who has no future with your big league organization or letting a player who may have a future with the team get a longer look at major league pitching? I think the answer is obvious which is why I can't fathom this move. I like McClain. He seems to be a hard working, nice guy. But, Fontenot is a player who likely has a greater future with the organization and these could be valuable at bats for him. Vance, I agree. The one thing that comes to mind is that the Cubs may want to move him too?!?! What if he comes up and plays really well. Maybe you can package him w/ Holly for a great prospect........
  19. I'm assuming if he's put on waivers at the end of the year that the claims work the same? Which in theory means the Cubs would be able to claim him before the Mets......................I don't know exactly how that works, but at $60M/3YR, I'll take Manny. I may sell $60 in jerseys when it's announced he's a Cub.
  20. I actually have three starts tomorrow (Williams, Lopez, and Schilling's return to the rotation). It could be interesting, because both Williams and Lopez could have a great game or could get pounded, and Schilling could be iffy. How those starts go may determine the outcome of the matchup for the week. After tomorrow I only have two starts left this week (Millwood on Saturday and Lowry on Sunday). Getting the unexpected start from Sosa returning to the rotation definitely helps me (although it sure didn't help the Cubs today), but you still have one more scheduled start than I do this week. I'm still mad at Felipe Alou for stealing a complete game shutout for Lowry from me. Yeah, if my hitters can keep me close through your 3 starts, I think I'll have the advantage w/ extra starts at the end of the week (assuming they don't total 2 pts!).
  21. meanwhile i've scored 100+ and i'm getting my ass kicked. have the orioles ever played baseball before? two line drive dp's in as many innings and fat ass colon is crusing. i'm a friggin' QS magnet...somebody had 6 QS in 7 starts against me a couple weeks ago, and now tootie is 5-5. go nccubbies! If all holds w/ me and NC we'll be w/in 5 pts of each other at the end of the night. Great match-up thus far. If I could luck out w/ some quality pitching I'd be way ahead. I've had some pitiful starts thus far and Politte had a bad relief apperance today vs Minny. NC should take the lead tomorrow. I believe he has a couple starts and I only have 1. If I can keep it close, I have a few starts over the weekend. It'll no doubt be close though.
  22. He gets the job done.........he doesn't do a tremendous job. The elite closers do a tremendous job and Dempster's not an elite closer. I won't argue that he has gotten the job done, but do you want him in a 1 run ballgame w/ runners on in a playoff clincher? I don't think so.
  23. This is an absolute no brainer. YES, YES, YES, YES!!!! When I think of Manny, I don't think about LF defense...........I think RBI MACHINE!!!! And let's not get into the whole "no player is worth that much money, deal!" If one, or two players in the league are worth it, Manny's one of them. Think of the jersey sales alone for this guy. I think how marketable a player is, is sometimes forgotten when talking about a players contract. Look at it another way, how much more revenue would Ramirez generate for the Cubs? I think he's one of those players that between his production and your increase in product sales..........is well worth the money. It's like making a movie and saying do I want Tom Hanks and pay him 30 M, or am I going to get Kenneth Branagh because he's cheaper.......... I'll take Tom Hanks anyday of the week because I know his name alone on the marquee with the name of my movie will make me a profit. Anyway, I'll take Manny Ramirez in a second. NO QUESTION!!!!
  24. I think Damon will use Boston and the Yankees to get ALOT more then he's worth............in years and money per/year. I like Lugo, but you're right TB may pick-up his option......I didn't realize he had one. The Cubs will almost certainly pick up Walker's option. And why in the heck would you think Furcal would get 8-9 million? I was thinking 6-6.5? Maybe I'm off, but I really didn't see him going that high, especially after last years SS and the money they received. I would say that Cabrera and Renteria were "valued" higher then Furcal. I just don't see him getting that much. Anyone else have a thought. I do think the Cubs should buy out Burnitz (500K) rather then paying him 7M next year. That's just too much for him. Giles would be ideal, but he's a guy you may have to overpay to get to Chicago. I think he'd put up some great numbers in Wrigley, though. I'd also like to see a trade for another corner OF. I haven't been particularly impressed with Lawton and if you sign Furcal you don't have to have Lawton to lead-off.
  25. I don't know that there's a ton of teams ready to jump on the Dempster wagon. Personally, the guys done ok, but he reminds me of Rod Beck when he's out there closing games. He hasn't been overpowering, or a shut down guy buy any means. Generally, I think that other teams would look at him as a set-up guy and as far as next season.............I hope the Cubs do too. I'd like to have him back, but I'd like to see the Cubs go after Wagner, or Ryan hard. No idea what his asking price will be. He'll probably want more then his current 2M deal.
