  1. I was thinking the same thing. I guess the Red's couldn't wait for Dusty to destroy him.
  2. He walked away so that was good. But honestly with something like that you hope any player is OK. For one reason and one reason only that being the anti-fighting crowd would have more ammo in their B.S. agenda to get fighting out of hockey. As it is Cooke deserved what he got.
  3. To bad the 8th inning didn't exist. We would be 3-1 if that were the case. :-))
  4. Not going to lie I was not happy about the ticket price increase. Anyone who liked it is one of three things a liar, doesn't go to the games, is named Tom Rickets. But in reality the price of the tickets while not something I liked I would have forgot about it quickly if they wouldn't of tried to pull a fast one with it. The whole charging the amusement tax after the ticket price while before it was in the price of the ticket pissed me off. Then acting like they weren't raising ticket prices that much.
  5. I'm thinking short ass interview
  6. I hate that they do the opening night thing but I still am excited about it because it is real baseball finally. I know that makes no sense but I miss the days when it was Opening DAY and not opening night for the first game.
  7. Reading all the twist and turns of this thread cracks me up. Anyway the Cubs/Cards rivalry is probably the 2nd best rivalry in all of baseball. I don't see how anyone can say either team has a better rival. As far as some of the teams other rivals I see it like this: Cubs/Brewers=Cardinals/KC-The Cubs/Brewers may hold a slight edge because it's a divisional game. Cubs/Whitesox-The only thing you can compere this rivalry to IMO are when the NY teams play. It's a different kind of rivalry because of the proximity. The cardinals have 1 big rivalry and 1 minor one. While the Cubs have 2 big rivals and one 1 minor one.
  8. As I stated above, the "experts" don't know squat. Ken Rosenthal (Foxsports) has the White Sox winning the World Series. Maybe you should have read the whole article. He basically made fun of the whole process and said exactly what you said that they don't know squat and it's silly to do this exercise every year. But since he has to do it he chooses the White Sox.
  9. I have never been but in years past I have thought about going to I.C. to watch their open practice. Iowa does not have a spring game anymore. My main reason was just to tailgate. But over the last couple years the PC police in Iowa City have outlawed alcohol for the open practice in the parking lots. Not that I need alcohol but with the lack of a real spring game I'm guessing it wouldn't be a very good tailgating scene.
  10. So who or what kind of player may be the PTBNL?
  11. I would also suggest and the writer of the article insinuated it that after 1991 or so the new stadiums (for the most part) being built were not of the cookie cutter variety. So they had character. Thus people were going for in part because of the stadiums. With Wrigley, Fenway and old Yankee stadium having the most character.
  12. 2nd game I went to was around 2001 give or take a year. Sat in the bleachers. I was told by this guy next to me outside of the weekends you will only see WGN show the bleachers and lower deck because that will be the only thing selling out. Looked around and what he said made sense. Also remember that year having seat on the left field line that were fairly close to the field. After about the 3rd inning this group of 6 people moved up from there seats they paid for. Knew they seat gypsied because all of them were talking about doing that. It may have started in 1998 but I wouldn't say the full transformation happened until late 2003. With 2004 being when it was full board.
  13. Exactly, where are the people who laughed at me when I suggested they deserve a 6 with an outside chance at a 5 now.
  14. No matter what it will be an upgrade.
  15. Illinois biggest problem is they would probably be the 6th team out of the Big ten. I see Minnesota getting in no matter what. It may not be fair but I could see the committee snubbing Illinois because of not wanting 6 BT teams in the tourney.
  16. UNI is playing for seeding right now. Win in the semi's they are a 6 seed, win it all they are a 5. If they lose today they get a a 7/8 seed.
  17. Well almost all the Saturday games are gone but there are still lots of good seats for all the other days.
  18. I'm done, got a Bleacher ticket for May 25-29. Will be a fun 5 days. I still find it irritating that you can get in but have to wait forever in the 2nd waiting room. Good luck to every one else.
  19. I'm almost there with you. Once again the Cubs follow their typical B.S. on ticket day. If you are out of the VWR it shouldn't take forever to buy a damn ticket. The 2nd waiting room is worst then the first for god sake. Yay, it just kicked me into the VWR again for their incompetence. Why is this Cubs BS? When you get passed the waiting room maybe they can have a server strong enough to actually allow you to buy a ticket with out getting kicked back to the VWR. Plus I'm getting frustrated. It's the last ticket and its a weekday game.

  21. Really starting to get pissed off here. Just let me finish my transaction alrealy for an Th afternoon game against the Dodgers. :banghead:
  22. Seems to me the high transaction screen is taking longer to get out of.
  23. Only 26 more minutes till I set up 40 windows in FF and another 40 in IE (the only time I use it).
  24. I saw that listing on the DVR guide. ESPN Classic can eat me. Highly doubt they could possibly be that hungry. Love that sig. What part of the south did you say you were from again? He may be from Iowa. That's what Ricky Stanzi (Iowa QB) said after he was asked a dumb ass question by the Fox reporter after winning the Orange Bowl.
  25. With the pre-sale I wonder if it will make it easier to get through tomorrow.
