  1. Seconded Pete Rose <<<<< a box of hammers
  2. Pssssssssshhhhh! That's nothing. I'll donate $1,000,000 for every home run that I hit. Cheapskate
  3. Let's face it, an OF of Soriano, Murton and Jones gives us a better chance of winning than Soriano, Pie, Murton does. I have no problem with keeping Jones here. The only thing needed is a platoon partner for him against lefties and we're set. I think having DeRosa start against lefties in the OF and move Theriot to 2B would be a good move. Jones started out terribly but finished with decent stats last year. He needs to take a few more walks and cut down the K's but his production is fine for this team.
  4. Bruce do have a feel for the mental status of Prior? He started out throwing 84/85. In his next start he was 88/89 with the fastball but he looked like he was overthrowing and not hitting his spots. His breaking stuff was consistently away and he seemed tentative to lefties as a result. He looks like he's fallen apart mentally to me. By the way, great job as the beat writer for the Daily Herald.

  6. This must be from before I joined the board, but who is Ronnie Woo Woo?   Are you serious? Ronny "Woo Woo" Wickers is an old guy who has been making a nuisance of himself, for years, at Cubs game. He woooooooos throughout the game. He actually lives in Arlington Heights and is an insurance salesman or something like that. I've bought that jerk more pints of beer than I can count. He's a loser just looking for free drinks.
  7. I don't know if there is room. Lou likes him. I don't think there's going to be room for Wuertz. That would be a catastrophic mistake. Does Wuertz have an appearance this spring?
  8. Maybe Lou's talk to the team really did something. Grow up BeerHere! ok
  9. k thanks And keep up that sense of humor
  10. He gave up a homer with the bases juiced Izzy with another hit Woodchip is right. Any runs scored after there are two outs and there has been an error (where the guy didn't later get out) should be unearned. Intuitively, it makes sense. I disagree. An argument could easily be made that the batter (after the error) has nothing to do with the previous hitter. IMO, that run should be on Woody.
  11. Poor kid. Never want to see anyone get hurt, even Cardinals. I hope he can come back.
  12. CUT HIM! Yeah, Pierre could have done the same thing but in fewer pitches. Don't forget a fake bunt in there too.
  13. HBP, BB, E6, HR/2out = 4R/1ER Did they change the rules of scoring? When I was a kid, all these runs would have been unearned because without the error the inning would have been over. I'm not saying it makes sense, but that's the way it was. Haha, anyone have a clue? I always worked under the assumption the HR and everything on is earned. I think the baserunner is unearned, but the hitter is earned regardless of the timing of the error.
  14. He gave up a homer with the bases juiced Izzy with another hit That's my understanding, please correct me if I'm wrong. As CubColt(eww)Pacer pointed out, the MLB.com box doesn't have an Izturis error, so they have all 4 runs as earned. You are correct, the boxscore is wrong.
  15. He gave up a homer with the bases juiced Izzy with another hit
  16. I can't believe you have tha audacity to do it again. Go get em mods!
