  1. This conflicts me.... On one hand people on THIS BOARD have said repeatedly that the W/L record for a pitcher is basically meaningless. Yet, we want to see Z possibly win 20 games. So which is it? Personally I don't mind if he wins 20 games (as it would look good on his resume), but I prefer that Z is rested and ready to go for the playoffs, instead of pushing himself to get 20 wins. It's a nice thing because some people (old people, idiots, to name a few) still think wins are an important stat and they take it into consideration when they vote on things like the Cy Young. But I agree that W/L is absolutely meaningless.
  2. REPRESENT YOUR COUNTRY Exactly. You are embarassing all of us!
  3. Just doing some quick math, the Cubs are 70-46, meaning there are 46 games still left. After Z's start tomorrow, 45 remaining games would mean a full 9 more times through the rotation...and that's before you consider off days in which Marquis could get skipped here or there and maybe turn the rotation over one more time... Either way, it would appear to me that Z is on track for at least 10 more starts, including Saturday's. 20 wins seems like a stretch to me...if he keeps up the current pace, he'll end up 18-6, which would be more than fine with me! eah, Yeah, that would work. Z, no b.s. Don't get too emotional. Just deal and bring home a series win buddy.
  4. Come on Washington! Have you no self respect?
  5. Holy crap that game was aesome jus got home from bar watching with Cards fans. Jiimmy, I lofve you now. Hank, much man respect! I'm totrally serious, big win today. Cards r toast.
  6. Stick with it. It has been working well for you :D :hello:
  7. GUNNED DOWN! Now there's a chance to turn things around!
  8. This kind of crap is why Lilly can't be trusted.
  9. Not to be doom and gloom, but I really think they need to hold them at 2-1 here.
  10. Well, getting into it was a gift, too, TLR just returned it. Good point. I like that Lilly has a low pitch count, I just don't trust that he can go 8 or 9. He tends to have that bad inning, and if he goes seven without having it I'd just get him out of there.
  11. Getting out of that was a gift. Now, it's time to pay.
  12. I feel like we are losing right now. But every inning we stay tied and get closer to their pen, I guess that's an advantage in itself. Think TLR will use Izzy at all in this series?
  13. No. He is putting up Jacque Jones #'s. I'm not ready to write the guy off, but if Seattle or NY (either) will take him for something decent, I'm okay with that.
  14. It's back to the 8th spot for you, Fuku.
  15. Jim-Jim? Got a problem with a pet name for my guy? So you are stickin' with that? Well, actually, I had South Park in my head, when Jimmy calls Timmy "Tim Tim." So it was adaptation of that.
  16. You probably don't want to point most people in the direction of a thread that PujolJunkie is dominating in volume of posts. Heh. Never been to that site before. Looks like NSBB's evil, [expletive] twin.
  17. Jim-Jim? Got a problem with a pet name for my guy? According to Ron, that pitch from Lilly said, "hit me." Sounded like it. And by the way, is Joe Mather Joe Girardi's long lost illegitimate child?
