I was getting TSN for a few years awhile back when they were offering a year of the magazine and their online fantasy resources (Fantasy Source, I think -- the draft kits were second-to-none) for $20. That seemed like a good deal. But I never read the magazine. It was absolute garbage. They were clearly trying to remain relevant by including a lot of reader-generated content. But that's not why I buy magazines. Generally, I still get monthly magazines to an extent. They have the time (and presumably the resources) to do the kind of reporting that takes time, and I appreciate that. But weeklies are just useless to me, and this isn't just limited to sports. If there is a more pointless publication than Time or Newsweek, I haven't found it.

Well they did have a pretty mediocre offseason last year, so I'm not surprised that they don't appear all that talented so far. That said, their roster looked back last year too and they were a top 6 seed. Yeah they were a good team last year. Lost some key guys and Tippett did a great job. Those are the games the Hawks should dominate and have to win. Glad they did. Now let's knock Colorado down a few notches.

The thing that makes me nervous about the "they asked for Garza" story getting traction now: if it came from the Cubs, doesn't it seem like a leak designed to set up the "see how unreasonable the Red Sox were being? it's not our fault things fell through" defense. Obviously I'm not saying the Cubs should deal them Garza (or even McNutt). I'm just saying it makes me a little nervous. I don't think it's a leak with some motive in mind as you describe. This thing is going to happen. But I do think it probably came from someone in the organization (Cubs) who was frustrated. I really wish Theo was determining the player(s) Boston would get.

The Hawks website doesn't say, but I would hope this is a rehab assignment of sorts. Get a few games in over there, get his legs back and get back with the team maybe Saturday at home?

It's being assumed by the fact that Miami is 0-4. Well St. Louis is 0-5 and 4.5 games back of the division lead and they are trading for 30+ year old WRs. They are also massively inept in the front office and need to sell tickets -- a few wins in an otherwise shitty season might help a little with that.
