    Yeah, it's a win now move for the Rangers. There are conditions on the draft picks, but still.

    Columbus always seems to wake them up. Though this is a different team than the one we pantsed over and over the last few years. Really? despite going 4-0 against them last year, all 4 wins were by 1 goal, and 2 of them were OT/SO. I agree in previous years we have dominated them and I believe have won 11 in a row against them. You're right, I forgot about all those tight games last year. My memory was going to the easy wins of the few prior years.

    Sounds like Jarmo really wants/needs to unload Gaborik today. I understand, but would think he can't just get picks in return.

    Yeah. Those as the snow slowed near the end of the period the hockey quickly improved. So maybe the second two periods can have some skilled hockey.

    And I thought the U.S. looked sluggish early on. The Norwegians aren't getting many great chances but they are playing Canada to a stalemate almost through the first.

    Doc just mentioned something I've noticed a few times in both the men's and women's games. The refs are having a lot of trouble staying out of the way. I think we take the NHL refs for granted in that respect. I know some of these are NHL refs, so I can't explain that. I guess bigger ice and different angles to take to stay out of the play.

    And of course they score about three seconds after I hit submit. And then another three seconds they score again. Screw off Halak, you knob.

    The Slovaks have more talent than I thought, but still, the U.S. side looks pretty uninspired so far.

    Hold on. There is no "5 seed" anymore. We have the division playoffs now. We're going to finish no worse than second in the division and play who, Colorado or Minny? And then we'll have to play St. Louis to get out of the central. That will be a war.

    Bummed I won't be able to watch the game at Dodger Stadium tonight. Should be quite a spectacle. And a normal game without all the shoveling and changing sides.
