    There is probably nothing to the tampering allegations, but statements like this are still scary as hell. With as strategic as Thoyer are...I'm sure they considered the tampering situation and therefore made sure this could be ruled out. Regarding giving up a top prospect - that's total [expletive], no way they'd be forced to do this. Maddon was making $2M with a chance to make $5M - clearly he's underpaid
