  2. Presumably it would be better to sign better players to get him to sign and make the Cubs better. Bellinger made the Cubs better as a baseline and potentially significantly better. Taillon made them better, as well. Sure, but even better better guys make them even more better, and also improve their chances with the whole "making themselves better appeals to the guys who would REALLY make them better" thing. Don't settle, Tim.
  3. yes, well, presumably the guy we're offering ~$300m to play for us will be a better player. Presumably it would be better to sign better players to get him to sign and make the Cubs better.
  4. Nice. Fast-forward to Opening Day: "The Cubs really Cody Bellinged this offseason."
  5. I mean, "showing the team is going to be active" could also be them signing better players.
  6. I too am fearful of these billionaires spending some of their billions for reasons I can't fully explain.
  7. It's possible that the Bellinger and Taillon signings this soon are to help intrigue Senga, who wants to go to a team that wants to win right now. Are they lying to him about who they signed?
  8. This is the real Chicago Way.
  9. [expletive], that is a depressing read.
  10. Eyeballs at home are all that matters in the end.
  11. Effectively making Amazon have to pay for this game is the greatest thing the Bears have done in decades.

  13. pretty much, there's nowhere else to go after your absolute favorite team ends a 100+ year championship drought at the end of a 5-year plan to win a world series. it's like moving into a house after watching it being built every day. You can't top it. it's like the hellraiser movies, you run out of things to experience so youre like, sure demons, chop my dick off and feed it to me, im kinda just sitting around anyway. what if cooper rush won a super bowl He already said you could chop off his dick and feed it to him.
  14. [expletive]. That's straight up assault.
  15. Netflix has gotta be desperately trying to resurrect The Queen's Gambit for a cheatin' season.
  16. Random Maris spot poll: is it cool or lame that the dude who broke Ruth's record was mostly Just Some Guy outside of, like, 2-3 seasons?

  18. Dudes seriously don't know how to tackle anyone anymore, do they?
  19. Even if it was initially a back issue, then the symptoms/behavior he was displaying still warranted him being taken out of the game (in my totally uneducated opinion). That their response was basically, "no, don't worry, it was his BACK that made him look like he was losing control and ragdolling all over the place; it's a good thing he went back out there and we won!" is practically horsefeathering sociopathic. And along the lines of what raw is saying, there's no horsefeathering fixing this. Anyone talking about how they need more impartial medical advisors and the like aren't being unrealistic at all; in this day and age, any medical professional who can be blamed by the horsefeathering lunatic fans for "making" a star player leave a game are going to be subjected to ungodly amounts of harassment doxxing, death threats, and horsefeathers knows what else. You're only ever going to mostly find Dr. Nick types willing to do this horsefeathers.

  21. You know you could have said the rest without the bold part, right?
  22. Get that vengeance, son.
  23. So who ended up winning?
