    what pleasure do you derive from these criminal parasite owners allocating capital efficiently Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk At a minimum it would be funny to watch a criminal parasite think he can dominate the league by parachuting in and tossing money at whatever suits his fancy only to have it fail, but bigger picture it'd be reassuring to spend time following a sport that doesn't ultimately boil down to purely being the ownership olympics. It'd be one thing if Cohen were trading for a bunch of pre-arb players and giving them 12 year extensions or otherwise campaigning to reform the player salary structure, but in the same way I'm not concerned about the marginal P&L of owners I'm also not terribly motivated by the top percentile of the player pool getting marginally more money thanks to his efforts.

    If they end up missing the playoffs or getting bounced early, spending like lunatics and doing that is objectively 100000000000000% cooler and more entertaining than being a bunch of cheap weenie bitches who likely end doing the same thing at best, and who will also still just jack up tickets and other attendance costs anyway.

    I’m not sure I watched a full game start to finish in 2022. I’m fairly certain I have not watched 75% of a full game since ~2018? 2019 for me. Since then I've MAYBE cumulatively seen about 6-7 innings.

    They could easily take that kind of hit if they needed to; other big market teams do it. People bitched and moaned about Heyward's contract for the past 6 years, so I guess....those people? And another long-term dud contract just gives Hoyer/Ricketts another excuse never to spend money again Yes, it's a made up problem by the owners.

    Does Hoyer really have a choice? Ricketts is the owner and doesn't have to do anything. Jed... Well, that's kind of his job. I honestly think there's at least a part of them that is considering cancelling the convention. They're going to get absolutely destroyed by the fans and the media. They'll probably cancel it and say it's due to rising COVID/flu/whatever cases, and then keep pumping money into Far Right pockets at the same time.

Those cheap ghouls don't want him to spend a dime more than they've decided he "should," but they know the bulk of the fanbase is a bunch of stupid meatheads that will lap up any kind of rhetoric that sounds even remotely like, "well, we tried."     Yep, the reports that came out last week plus the Crane interview leave it pretty obvious. This is a franchise that has been cautious and calculated about setting expectations about individual offseasons and using vague statements like 'the money will be there when needed' to describe their future payrolls. The narrative has changed completely now based on the things they've said. They had to know that they were dramatically raising fan expectations. And now instead of 90% ownership blame, 10% FO blame (on twitter at least), its reversed. seems like they know jed is a wuss and thought it would be easy to call his bluff and shift the blame Seems like a bunch of dumb fucks all ping-ponging off of each other.
