He's given up 9 earned runs this year, five of them in two games where he recorded no outs. We won both of those games. He hasn't given up multiple runs in any other game this year. In fact, we've only lost one game this year in which he gave up a run(s), the 5-4 loss to Pittsburgh on May 24. A) I'm talking aout career numbers, not a 2 month sample size B) The numbers you just gave me are not very telling since they don't account for situations like tonight. He didn't give up a run but he clearly was not good. Close and late, in his career, he has a .575 ops against. What a choker. WHAT. SHUT UP. YOU CRAZY. GET OUTTA HERE.

Huh. It would be nice if the "lightning in a bottle" theory worked once in terms of signing older vets. Then again, even Neifi and Womack had their hot stretches. Then again, those guys didn't have careers like Edmonds.
