  1. Uh, you really think that during his hot streaks he doesn't still have bad games? It's one night. Slow down. 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 .... + 1 = a whole lot of nights. Yep, this one night erases: .409 .409 .591 1.000 .444 .474 .750 1.224 .342 .392 .521 .913 Good call!
  2. Are some of you actually constructed out of the parts of wailing old women?
  3. hit the ball to third, didnt even leave batters box The ball hit his foot, he didn't sell it, the ump though it just bounced off the ground and he was thrown out.

  5. Oooooh, I blame that on the anal fissure.
  6. I wonder if they'll attempt to convert him to a LOOGY. Seems like the only option at this point.
  7. Doesn't matter. Carlos Lee is much, much, much more dangerous.
  8. He just PH last inning. That answers that. Who did he hit for? I was coming home from class and turned on the TV right as Fontenot missed the bunt.
  9. Is Fukudome available? If so, why the hell isn't he batting for Johnson?
  10. Wow, Stevens was nasty. Good job, rookie. FINISH THIS.
  11. Oh God. Yeah, like Koyie Hill is so awesome at throwing runners out as it is. Koyie Hill has now thrown out 41% of basestealers this season. That's probably one of the best percentages in the league for any catcher who's played more than a handful of games. Damn you and your non-hysterical conjecture. The idiots on ESPN 1000 were completely blaming Bradley for the bottom of the 9th from what I heard, making it sound like he fucked up the signs and got caught. So, yeah, they're morons.
  12. Joe Carter, Dave Otto, Joe Morgan, Buck and McCarver, Hawk Harrelson... The whole Nats TV team can go on that list. Brutal. I had to listen to them for one of the games of the Cubs series. The Pirates' guys were horrible in the years past that I've heard them. Not that that they were particuarly obnoxious, but more in that they were just SO boring.
  13. My issue with Rose is that what he did was totally and beyond the shadow of a doubt against the rules for decades before he showed up. It was effectively baseball's cardinal sin for almost a century, he knew it, and he still willfully did it. It look at it the same way I do with the guys caught juicing after the crackdown went into effect: if you got away with it before baseball definitively said "no," good on you. If you made the choice to do it after it was completely and totally against the rules, tough [expletive].
  14. Keep on keeping on, friend, I got dumped yesterday too - albeit a much shorter time frame than a year and a half. Was she the one?
  15. I'm 30 and I honestly was not a fan of the Cubs' TV broadcasting as far back as I can remember. Stone just seemed like smarmy white noise and Harry was a slobbering oaf. Harry I'll give the credit to that in his younger, healthier days (most of which were before I can remember since even in 1984 he would go from pro to sloshed by about halfway through the game) was an excellent PBP guy. Stone always struck me as being a snot and didn't know [expletive].
  16. Eh, odds are whoever replaces him will be on par with Hendry or worse. Truly good GM's are few and far between.
  17. I'm failing to see what's so tough about that schedule. It's pretty unremarkable.
  18. I don't think he was safe, since he touched Koyie's foot. He has to be tagged with a hand or glove holding the ball. Touching his foot doesn't matter. Not that it matters, but I believe Coach was saying that Hill's foot blocked Encarnacion from ever touching home plate. That's what I mean. Koyie's foot was blocking homeplate from ever touching the home plate. Their feet didn't hit until Encarnacion had already touched the plate.
