  1. LIES. WE NEED SOPA.
  2. Really hoping Rose doesn't play for, like, at least another week.
  3. Kyle's Sappelt-boner strikes again.
  4. Not wanting to pay Boras' asking price doesn't mean the Jays are the only team with a real opening at 1B. Nobody wants to pay Boras' asking price.
  5. No [expletive] kidding. WSR, saying that the Jays are the only team with an opening at 1B is ridiculous. The team this very message board is based around has an opening at 1B. I like Rizzo and hope he does end up kicking ass for the Cubs, but at the moment he does not present a sure option for the position and sure as [expletive] doesn't block signing a player like Prince. A single 1B prospect doesn't suddenly make Prince redundant, nor do medicore or average players currently sign to play 1B on other teams.
  6. Excellent.
  7. Zah?
  8. Buh.
  9. Guh.
  10. What do you think this means? The Cubs have wanted to shed themselves of Soriano and his contract for years now. Theo and Hoyer wanting to move him isn't bringing something new to the table.
  11. Nobody "wants" him, at least not in a fan sense. The general consensus is that he's a vastly overpaid, flawed player on the downside of his career. On the flip-side, the talk seems to be that he's a popular and likeable player amongst his teammates, so it's not like he's "not wanted" here outside of the front office looking to move him if possible. It's not like he's going to be showing up every day and everyone is shunning him and treating him like [expletive] because Theo and Hoyer would like to move him.
  12. Their home run celebration.
  13. Yesssssssssss.
  14. Does Soriano show up for these things? How does he restrain himself from kicking many, many nuts?
  15. If you think seats are crammed in at Wrigley, you should go to Fenway (if you haven't already). I had to tuck my legs back under my own seat because my knees wouldn't fit in front of me. After that experience, the seats at Wrigley feel quite spacious. Wrigley should aspire to better than "oh, hey, we're a preferable option to the other old dump."
  16. The lower deck is angled optimally as-is. I concede that the 400/500 seating farther down the lines leaves much to be desired, but that's exactly the kind of problem a thoughtful renovation can address. No one builds 60,000 seat ballparks anymore. No one wants to pay a premium to sit a mile away from the action with the kind of in-home viewing options available today. There's a huge middle ground between 60,000 and squeezing in around 42,000.
  17. Maybe because he looks like a fat baby when he's naked?
  18. "Intimate seating" can also be code for just how uncomfortably so many of the seats are positioned to cram in as many as possible, or even just how the seats themselves mostly suck. Couple that with the obstructed views and how relatively few seats they have vs. how much they could actually fill and things have to change.
  19. Bricks, ivy, scoreboard, marquee sign; beyond those things I really have trouble understanding people who cling the rest of Wrigley. I mean, how can anyone not see that it's an outdated dump that's literally falling down?
  20. Any chance Rizzo could end up in LF? Or would that just be bad news?
