Judging from that press conference, I underestimated his desire to leave. I don't question his desire to leave the Cubs and be in a better current situation. I just don't get how a seemingly smart guy does not understand what the Cubs are doing. Why do you think he doesn't understand? He wants to be on a team in a better position to win ASAP and he wants to make as much money as possible, and the Cubs are not willing/able to do either. The Cubs are in a great position to start kicking ass in a couple years, but he's older now and wants to get paid.

    Is this a trick question? If the Cubs can miraculously get Stanton while only losing Russell and Soler from that first lineup how do you possibly not do it? Well, and Soler. But, yeah. I take the first lineup only because I really like that one too and we can then use the $25 per on Stanton for pitching. They already have plenty of money to spend on pitching; use this embarrassment of riches to get an impact player ASAP.

    Bryant RF, Baez 2B, Russel 3B, Alcantara CF. Alcantara CF, Russell 3B, Rizzo 1B, Bryant RF, Castro SS, Soler LF, Baez 2B, Castillo C This could conceivably happen by this time next year. Like for real. Not even best case scenario projections. [expletive] yeah! and with quality depth like Valbuena, Ruggiano, Lake Still would rather see a bigger trade.

    Because the Bulls can't win a championship with that team in the near future. Rebuild it. Do you think rebuilding an NBA team is like rebuilding an MLB team? Because that's the only way it kinda makes sense as to what you're saying. If you're going to pointlessly "gut" the team then you might as well trade Rose, too.

    I'd be incredibly upset because it somehow meant that all of the Cubs' highly touted prospects failed and somehow Olt ended up landing a starting job with the team.
