  1. What the hell, on one hand im mad at the Bears fans that didnt show up (every seat looked filled to me), and on the other I'm mad at Gene for needing to embarass the Bears fans by throwing out that comment which was rather unnecessary for the content in his article. What the hell is his problem. Did the Bears do something to him when he was a child that angered him? This is the second slam job hes written about the Bears. I'm done with this shmuck.
  2. I really am sick of the Patriots. I hope the Colts slaughter them.
  3. What a day of football. I'm just glad this game I don't really care about.
  4. Not after Katrina. We'll hear a lot about the Saints. The Saints are no doubt a good story, however it's going to be annoying to hear the Bears being painted almost as the "bad guys." I'm gonna enjoy this victory for the next few days until I start being nervous about the Saints game.
  5. You gotta really be looking to see Grossman as "Otherwise mostly awful". For comparison, here are the other passer ratings in the playoffs so far... Peyton Manning: 39.6 Steve Mcnair: 49.9 Drew Brees: 96.2 Jeff Garcia: 88.2 Matt Hasslebeck: 66.9 I missed the articles about Manning, Mcnair, and Hasslebeck being "mostly awful". Grossman had an ok game. That's pretty much all anyone was wanting from him. Leave the guy alone. Who wrote that? Because whoever wrote it is a moron. Grossman was good today. I thought both Moose's drop and Berrians drop were very catchable balls. They were a little behind, but NFL receivers should make those catches.
  6. Yeah, Berrian's drop was disappointing, but it was behind him. Still no excuse for not making that one. He coulda walked in, but Rex gets some of the blame. The Bears didn't do a good job with field position. That has gotta change next week. Kick coverage was lacking. Punting was mediocre. When they had good field position, they didn't take advantage. When they had the Seahawks backed up, they didn't take advantage. The one time they did, they made Seattle punt from inside the 10 and had the Hester TD called back and started inside the 30. Bingo. I was very disappointed with the special teams today. They were very mediocre. Hester still scares the crap out of me catching the ball. And the coverage on kick offs has to be better than it was. Starting at the 30 every drive is not good for the defense.
  7. Go Bears! It's gonna be a long, long week waiting for this game, especially in what is already a long week: first week of classes.
  8. I'm just sick of seeing Griffin and Allen getting big minutes in the second half of close games.
  9. Bears are guaranteed to win now, because fat man Chris Berman picked against em.
  10. Skiles is really starting to piss me off with his substitution patterns. Why the hell is Sweetney playing in the fourth? Why do Griffin and Allen suddenly get good minutes while Thabo and Thomas sit on the bench? What the hell is going on with this team?
  11. Welcome back Missouri to the sucky program I've grown accustomed to. This sucks.
  12. Down 11 already. This one feels like a 30 point loss.
  13. Probably not as many as Horton. Id be a lot more excited if Mizzou didnt somehow lose to Iowa State. I'm really starting to hate that damn school.
  14. No problem. It's not like they'd have an advantage if they watched the NFC games live on TV, they don't strategize based off the video from the TV feeds. I think this is obvious to most knowledgable people, including the mediots. I think the problem, as seen by those who complain about it (not me), is that Lovie should have been preparing by watching game tape of his potential opponents and maybe preparing Rex, although that is what Wade Wilson is for. (this is directed to those people_) Are you freaking serious? Is Lovie Smith supposed to toil for 2 weeks straight to assemble tape for Rex Grossman? Do you even know what Head Coaches do? He gave the team the weekend off. Christ almighty. I also don't see the problem with Lovie going to the Colts game. I guess I shouldn't be surprised people are upset about it, but those are the same idiots that think Kyle Orton should be starting. I'm also a little confused as to the uproar about Rex's comments last week. Honestly, it made me feel a little better that he didn't take it seriously as opposed to him being fully prepared and still sucking.
  15. Why does Fox play their stupid music instead of the bands playing when the teams enter the field? Dumb.
  16. I think Ohio State's gonna win, but Ill be pulling for Florida tonight.
  17. I agree. I think the Eagles are gonna beat the Saints. Anyways, I hope Ogunleye has a huge game (finally). If the d-line plays well, Bears win.
  18. I really hope the Bears win this game. I can't take another home playoff loss against a lower seeded team.
  19. Oh goody. Mute button, here I come!
  20. Yeah I read that in the Tribune too. Seems like they're preparing harder than they have in over a month. Hopefully it pays off.
  21. Guthrie Ill never forget that bum. Still can't believe they lost that game.
  22. I'm sorry, but you're an NFL QB. Don't blame New Year's Eve for a reason why you sucked. Some of these excuses are pretty funny. He should've just said he sucked and moved on. Now everyone is going to say how he shouldn't start because, mentally, he might not be "prepared" for the playoff game. Right. So again, you're going to rip him for saying what everyone already knew about the entire team's performance. The game meant nothing, they prepared and played like it meant nothing to them, and he said as much. Bingo. Obviously it's troubling that he had that kind of performance, but the game did mean absolutely nothing. I'm gonna say they're gonna be prepared for the playoff game, and if they aren't then they deserve to get bumped in their first game.
  23. Well count me in the group that will be surprised if Brady is one of the three best qb's in the nfl in three years.
  24. Wow.
