  1. Talk where? In the media? By the fans? That doesn't mean anything. It's pretty simply. Krivsky is going to get what HE wants for Dunn and Griffey or he will hang onto them into the offseason and probably into next season. Dunn's price tag is cheaper then Griffey's, but both are going to cost you something nice. Either somebody is going to step up and make a deal, or nothing will happen. I'm not sure if I like the strategy or not, but that's what is going to happen. if the cubs and reds were gonna make a deal for griffey, what would you as a fan want back from the cubs?
  2. griffey in a cubs uniform would be pretty sweet. i dont see it happening though. and is it definitive that the cubs are not gonna be adding a lot or any payroll, or is it just based on what has been implied thus far?
  3. Does King actually watch football. Did he actually say Briggs makes Urlacher better, and not the other way around. Ugh.
  4. I've sat in left field about a dozen times this year and Soriano has more interaction with the fans than any other player ive seen. My favorite moment was during a cubs sox game when we had one d-bag sox fan in the section (he had "world series champs" printed where the name is supposed to go on his sox jersey). Well everyone was giving him a hard time and I think he yelled something at Soriano and Soriano flicked him off. It was HILARIOUS. Yes, I was in the bleachers at the end of June and Soriano LOVES the bleacher fans. He always runs out, points to everyone, will talk to people, whatever. You can yell "TWO DOWN SORIANO!" and hold out two fingers, and he'll turn around and flash two fingers back at ya. At one point some girl yelled "Gimmie a kiss Soriano!" and he turned around in between pitches and blew her a kiss. He definitely loves it here. that's awesome, as is soriano. i got some tickets to cubs cards in st louis for september 16 in the front row of the left field bleachers, hopefully if i yell something good at soriano he will acknowledge me.
  5. or anyone in the cubs lineup for that matter.
  6. great job bullpen giving up five damn runs in not even two innings. QUIT WALKING PEOPLE.
  7. Man I hope we pound the crap outta the Giants tonight.
  8. For real. Earlier in the season there was like 25 page game threads for the whole game.
  9. Skip Bayless is a moron who I hope bad things happen to him. Also, Dan Le Betard just started yelling at Mike Wilbon on PTI that one run wins even out in the season, and that will happen with the Cubs because they've been winning a lot of one run games. Wait a minute, I thought the Cubs record in one run games is STILL under .500. But hey, don't let facts get in your way ESPN! Sorry to bring up le Betard, back to original point.
  10. I think the worst part is Hendry is excited about this deal.
  11. I'm really starting to get excited about college football. I think its like 57 days til Mizzou plays Illinois at the dome. Hopefully we start off on the right foot in that game and it leads to a big season. Ill be going to that, down to Ole Miss, and possibly Norman for the OU game.
  12. i cant say im really surprised by this. the first time in a while im actually somewhat excited about this team, this happens. not surprising.
  13. This could be a long day, especially if the Cubs can't hit the brewers rookie, who may be good but he's still a rook.
  14. i dont know if ive ever seen so many foul balls in one inning. Geez.
