  1. my god tavarez has to be hitting at least .600 against the cubs this year.
  2. my god freakin burke, how many home runs have the cubs given up to no name losers this year, seems like a million.
  3. Damn, the way things are going right not for Glendon, he could give up 15+ hits tonight.
  4. I personally would like to see Nomar and Walker re-signed in the offseason and then spend the rest of the money on an outfielder and reliever. I know the free agent class is weak, so I guess I would prefer to see Hendry trade for a corner outfielder who the Cubs may have to pay more of the contract if need be.
  5. I personally am not going to get excited unless they sweep houston, and thats going to be tough. I will continue to watch the games. but its gonna take an absolutely monster month and a half, and unless they go on a stretch unprecedented to the Chicago Cubs franchise, Im not going to get my hopes up.
  6. Most pitchers aren't great in their first month back from TJS. Except the immortal Chris Carpenter...
  7. Well my buddy has a place two blocks from Wrigley Field and I am going tonight. If I see any cardinal fans, its gonna be big time trouble.
  8. well williamson has just been terrible today.
  9. unnecessary trolling. unnecessary trolling? It's a very relevant stat that Pujols has stepped it up as the Cardinals locked up the division, while Lee went 0-for-forever during that 8 game losing streak that crippled you guys. the cardinals have had the division locked up for months. don't act like they haven't. lee had a slump - okay, big deal. pujols, too, has slumped. it doesn't take away from the fact that lee has been an overall better player all season - note that i said ALL SEASON, which is what MVP voting is based on, not an 8-game stretch in august. All season? Have we played the whole season yet? I was under the impression we had a month and a half left. Seems to me that Lee had a good half and has been average or slightly better in the second half. The real difference between the two is that Lee's slump isn't quite through yet. When it is, Pujols will have the better numbers. Who are you, Nostradomus? Being able to predict the future must be something inherint in in people from St Louis. And Barrett just jobbed. I'll bet you, even money, right now that Pujols ends with a higher AVG, OBP, and OPS. Would you please take this else where, cardinal fan. This is a game thread.
  10. come on now williams, no hit to freakin mike mahoney please...
  11. geez walker sucks against the cardinals.
  12. alright top of the order. LETS GET SOME RUNS!
  13. come on williams, keep the momentum on the cubs side. quick inning here.
  14. Cubs back in it! Ramirez with the bomb
  15. god bless america williams throw some damn strikes!
  16. bartman play in the third inning by fox. perhaps earlier than expected.
  17. at least williams made carpenter work. hopefully we can get something next inning.
  18. man that would have been quite the play. hopefully jerome can just have a decent at bat here.
  19. man i really wish the cubs could give carpenter a loss...
  20. that was just not a very good play by ramirez, he set up while he was at third instead of firing it over off balance.
  21. pat hughes just said the cubs are second worst in allowing walks, only in front of colorado, and the cubs are dead last in drawing walks.
