  1. so essentially a lot of the knicks presentation was to trash chicago? nice. http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/22936942
  2. one things for sure, ESPN has looked especially bad with this and the big ten expansion rumors. very few of their "analysts" have any clue what is actually going on with either situation, even moreso than usual.
  3. if he was really desperate for a job. i said a few pages back i think lebron will stay with cleveland. sure there are a ton of rumors out there, but that one does make sense (well, not if he wants to win a championship or be a global icon, but as far as loyalty, yeah), unlike the miami rumor.
  4. posters on the bulls realgm site are now saying people like bucher and sam smith are saying lebron will stay in cleveland. what a dumb move for him, if true.
  5. Varejao 8.6 PPG 7.6 RPG 0.9 BPG Noah 10.7 PPG 11 RPG 1.6 BPG Sideshow Bob's a better defender Quite debateable. I don't really think it is. why do you post in this thread?
  6. oh my god. i saw this on realgm. if this is the knicks pitch to lebron, i have no words: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/ian_thomsen/06/29/knicks.pitch.lebron/#ixzz0sInvKgUe "In addition, the Knicks can warn James that if he doesn't want to join them, then he should consider how he'll feel competing against Johnson, Bosh or Stoudemire and one or two more stars by 2011-12. As they'll tell James Thursday, they have no choice but to build a championship team -- with or without him. They will encourage him to decide quickly, in order to help them recruit a big winner. 7. i just have a really bad feeling lebron is gonna resign with the cavs out of loyalty. and he probably would not be thrilled with that, especially if he didnt win a championship. hopefully if he does resign with the cavs, its only a 3 year deal. but im still holding out hope for the bulls.
  8. I was actually very pissed that the US acted sportingly and played the ball back to Ghana there. He was obviously acting, so why reward it? i dont know but it also really pissed me off. hopefully they get what they deserve and uraguay beats them next round. a team that pulls the crap that ghana did does not deserve to advance very far. and by the way, congrats to them for the win. they took advantage of their chances and we didnt. but i cant watch the flopping and other [expletive] and enjoy it. [expletive] them.
  9. horribly depressing loss today. and it really sucks because we had some relaly good chances that we didnt convert on. but the fact of the matter is todays game is exactly why soccer will never be huge in this country. the flopping and the total crap that ghana pulled is just a huge turnoff and something that most americans will never embrace. i mean my god the ghanian player goes up for a kick, falls on to his back, with no contact from anyone, and thats an injury timeout? gmafb. i understand that the players are tired, but why the [expletive] is that a stoppage in play, and why the [expletive] are they bringing the damn stretcher out for that guy? [expletive] that [expletive]. next time keep play going and let the slimy bastard lay there.
  10. can someone explain to me when the luxury tax comes in? also, i was watching the draft preview last night, and there was some number lik6 $68 mil. what the hell is that number?
  11. yeah, this is awesome:
  12. wait, so will fifa not admit that their [expletive] ref fucked up big time?
  13. let's be honest, most programs are not relevant nationally. if you look at each conference, there's maybe 3 teams that matter (minus the sec). the big 12 is just weak enough that it could be picked apart, thus showing the truly important programs to the irrelevant ones. most of you should consider yourselves lucky that you will probably never see just how irrelevant your team school is.
  14. penn state beat nebraska 40-7, and i thought their fans were wonderful. they seemed really good-natured and friendly, and after the ass-whipping they said they hoped we'd come out to lincoln for the rematch in 2003. just a little different when you play them year in and year out and challenge their supremecy. they are an interesting bunch.
  15. big surprise.
  16. have fun with nebraska fans, iowa. boy theyre a real treat to have around, especially when you beat them in football.
  17. for the record, k-state football is not on the way back. sure, they may win 7-8 games a few seasons, but as soon as snyder goes away (which will be soon), they go back to being a cupcake.
  18. Even when the conference is threatened (which hasn't happened yet)? The Big East isn't going to push Notre Dame out of the conference if they don't join in football, but they need a plan if/when the conference gets raided. Knowing how Notre Dame will act is an important part of that plan. I think they know how ND will react. Swarbrick has been in discussions with the BE during this whole thing. ND's 2 goals have been remaining independent and keeping the Big East afloat. But if the BE says "all or nothing," I think ND walks away pretty quickly. Whether that's to the Big Ten, the ACC, or what, I don't know. But the BE knows they don't get ND for football under any scenario, so keeping the ND brand for all other sports is worth it to them. what ND brand does notre dame have besides football? notre dame is no more relevant than missouri in basketball or nearly any other sport. notre dames big draw is football, thats it.
  19. there's a lot of talk about that. i guess the plane that was flown to OK city, Lubbock, etc has scheduled a trip to KC. I'm not getting my hopes up. lol, oh lord. this is like a rivals message board when a school is looking for a new coach...people tracking planes and isht true, although it seems a lot more important when youre trying to keep your school from going to a mid major conference.
  20. snood, whats the talk about ku to the pac 10? apparently tigerboard has some chatter about larry scott stopping in kansas city.
  21. this is true, but in the end they are gonna do whatever they can to keep up with the Jones' our only real bottom feeder in football is Vandy and maybe Kentucky, and they aren't really a given to beat when you play them. kentuckys really not too terrible anymore. i cant see mizzou being much worse than them if they were in the sec.
  22. ugh, this sucks so much ass. this wait to find out where mizzou is gonna land just blows.
  23. I hope the mizzou officials at least contact the sec to see of there's any interest. Missouri is already bordered by 3 sec states, and there exists potential for a great rivalry between mizzou and Arkansas. And it gives the sec inroads to st Louis and Kansas city. Hopefully the subject is at least broached.
  24. for those blaming mizzou on this whole thing, get a life. to paraphrase what another mizzou fan said, if we're not good enough to be picked by another conference, then we're certainly not good enough to scare anyone into joining another conference. all this b.s. from nebraska that mizzou was a major cog in them leaving is crap. and all the big 12 fans are blaming missouri, but at the same time saying it doesn't matter if they leave the conference. so either mizzou is irrelevant and doesnt matter, or they are important and their actions started this whole thing. but it cant be both. so to the idiot big 12 fans blaming missouri, pick one or the other. and my opinion is that mizzou is fairly irrelevant in this whole thing and these other schools are just using mizzou as an excuse to make themselves feel better.
  25. probably. delaney is gonna be loved and hated by a lot of people for all this.
