  1. Man I love Roenick. That was sad/great/moving/whatever.
  2. First, where did the button to reply to a specific post go to? I can only post at the bottom of a thread. TT, that's a very difficult question. I do not want TT (hehe) though. Not sure how I'd weigh having to take TT to get Texas and A&M. If Notre Dame is really a possibility, I think I'd put Nebraska/Missouri/Notre Dame ahead of a group with freakin' TT. Yuck. And I think everyone here knows how much I've wanted Texas.
  3. WOOOOHOOOO!!!! Amazing, didn't know it was a goal until Kane celebrated and Leighton was in his net. Oh man, winning the Cup in overtime. Wow. KANER!!!!!
  4. Again, if the Big 10 gets Nebraska setting off a chain reaction which concludes with Texas in the Pac 10 (and Texas A&M, for that matter), I'm going to be furious.
  5. As much as I didn't want to admit it to myself, that goal was inevitable. Flyers were putting so much pressure it was bound to happen. Crap, crap, crap, however. They're really going to have to get off their heels and overcome Philly's momentum. I can't even imagine possibly winning the Cup in OT.
  6. What a horse crap penalty that was on Hossa. . . then to score right away: beautiful. Perhaps my second favorite playoff moment so far after Game 5 against Nashville. So, so close. Philly's going to pin their ears back, Hawks better be ready.
  7. So excited/nervous/anxious. Getting close now . . .
  8. Has to be the best period I've seen them play. Just outstanding, outstanding stuff. Keep it up.
  9. I'm pretty pleased to actually be able to watch from home (especially considering my nasty hangover). Seems like I've had to go out and watch nearly every game -- I don't have Versus and then the ridiculous Indy 500 banquet fiasco last week.
  10. Oh man, I'm nervous. Logically, I keep thinking they're the better team and will right the ship like they have each time it was necessary in the playoffs so far. However, I can't help but have some sinking dread that they gave the series away in Philly (and, yeah, I know it's still 2-2 with the Hawks holding home ice).
  11. . . . And amazingly NBC is showing an Indy 500 banquet instead of the 'Hawks here. Hopefully some bar here will be able to show it on NBCe or NBCw or whatever. I hate this place already (though the same issue would present itself in Bloomington as it gets Indy locals).
  12. I think that's a very encouraging result. Turkey is a quality side and the US generated several good chances -- pretty creatively too. Defending the counterattack has now become a huge concern of mine. Whether or not Findley is the answer as the second striker, Dempsey and Donovan have to be on the wings. Oh, and Jose Torres=yes.
  13. I didn't hear if he was completely unavailable today or just on the bench? I didn't see the pregame, so I never heard exactly why he's not in the XI. Wow, the defense was leaky. The offense actually seemed fine to me, especially considering Donovan and Dempsey offered nothing. Defending Turkey's counterattack, though, eek. Turkey is definitely a quality side.
  14. Gooch not in the lineup. Does that mean they determined he's not fully fit or can't play two games in a week?
  15. Also surprised the weekend games aren't afternoon games. Also thrilled five out of seven games would be on NBC (I don't have Versus).
  16. That's why I was confused. I thought/figured you were a Bears fan. They led 7-0 and 14-6, but nothing more. But I agree wholeheartedly with your main point. I'm too comfortable right now with the Hawks.
  17. No they didn't. If by 11 you mean eight, then, yes, yes they did.
  18. Wait, what football team do you root for?
  19. Yeah, I thought the Sharks outplayed the Hawks last night, however slightly. Niemi amazing again, I didn't know he had this level of play in him. This has been a great, competitive series -- can't believe it's 3-0 right now. As a Cub fan, I have to admit to being slightly concerned as my confidence level in this team is so high right now.
  20. Great game. Certainly a much higher level than the previous two series -- well, actually, from anything I've seen this playoffs. Best game I've seen Niemi play.
  21. 4 games under .500, 10th place in the wild card. It's a fairly daunting task. Not that I expect this team to contend, but I don't see how being in "10th place" right now has much cogency at all. Sure, that's a lot of teams to pass but 130 games is an exceedingly long time to do so. They're a half game behind three of those teams (Florida, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles) and only five games back of the wild card leader (San Francisco).
  22. 1. Good. 2. Darn. 3. (Re: Guy Marc Michel) Groan.
  23. I've always considered a home game five when leading a series 3-1 to be very important (besides the obvious close out ramifications). Here's hoping the 'Hawks close 'em out tonight.
