Hey, guess what player ranked immediately behind Murton in GB/FB ratio last year in all the NL? Jacque Jones. I guess he becomes a light hitting OF too... since your only qualification for that seems to be that he "can't hit past the infield." And his arm is too inaccurate to be a RF and his range is too poor to be a CF. That pretty much means he can't play anything else besides LF. Just ask any Twins scout. :roll: Did I say anything about Jacque Jones dickwad? Jones at least has some HR power and is better defensively in RF. He can actually get to the balls and catch them. yea, his arm Sox. If it was up to me, I'd get another RF. But Murton isn't the answer.

Japanese baseball players are overrated. They aren't very good. I don't know why they keep on recruiting there. They only do good in Japan, because they're playing people who can't make it to the majors. They should just stick to recruiting in the Western hemisphere and say sayonara to players who come from Japan.

Actually, I think Murton will be the future 4th OF. He will stay until Colvin is ready. Many people feel Colvin will be much better than Murton. who knows what they will do.....Cubs right now have a glut of OF. I think Jones will be traded. Floyd is still useful as a pinch hitter.

Booing Murton or Miller? i don't think they were booing murton. Did you see the ball roll past Murton? He misplayed that ball so badly. On that play, they booed Murton. And rightfully so, it was a terrible play. But now, they are just booing the Cubs in general. Miller is horrendous.

Alright then! :lol: No, but a 25 year-old player is likely still going to improve. A 34 year-old is very likely to regress. AVG OBP SLG Floyd 0.261 0.346 0.465 Murton 0.302 0.368 0.456 These are three year averages for Murton and Floyd (only MLB AB's). Who would you rather have playing? I'd rather have both guys playing, each in the appropriate situations. Murton's likely to improve, and he's also likely to be a Cub for a while. He'll get plenty of ABs, plenty of chances to improve this year, plenty of chances to contribute. I'd play Murton almost every day. He has upside whereas Floyd does not. Moreover, since Murton is likely to be a Cub for a long time, it would behoove me to develop him as quickly as possible. Otherwise, we might bring in another veteran over him. Since, you know, he doesn't have experience. Since I'd play Murton almost all the time, when would you play him? And what is the cost to the franchise since Murton's development will be stunted. And, how many outs do you sacrifice with Floyd's lesser OBP? Actually you are wrong here.....Murton is not expected to be a starting OF for the future from what I know. The two outfielders they're expecting in the future are Pie and Colvin. Once Pie comes up, he will be the CF and Soriano will move to LF. Colvin will then go to RF. This is the reason for the limited play time of Murton.

The difference is Zambrano is a mental midget. If the going gets tough he collapses under the pressure. He lets his emotions get the better of him alot.

He got lifted for Theriot, because Cubs used Theriot to steal 2nd base for the go-ahead run. It was a good move in my opinion.

Cubs need to get rid of Barrett, Ohman and Howry.
