  1. I hope he makes that trade. finley for a year and a prospect for patterson. heck yeah...finley hits well in a contract year and there's no reason hendry can't get bradley too when he gets non-tendered.
  2. when faced to choose between a wife beater or a drunk, then I'll take the drunk anyday.
  3. I'm so glad that we can get constant updates on a guy that probably won't ever be a significant part of ANY major league team. He might make a couple of AAA all-star teams, but I doubt that, even. BUT, keep the updates coming, guys. I'm on the edge of my seat.

  5. if we give up that much for pierre, i'm not going to be happy. that much? you gotta be kidding me. are you upset about losing patterson or hill? because i don't think hendry would be giving up two players that are going to contribute a whole heckuva lot next year, barring some extreme and unlikely improvement from either one. if we can get pierre for just patterson and hill, then hendry doesn't HAVE to get furcal because he's got his leadoff hitter. hendry could then turn his attention towards brian giles for RF and hitting between lee and ramirez. yes, let's not give up a huge disappointment and a possible LOOGY for one of the top leadoff hitters in baseball. that would be TERRIBLE.
  6. There's no way Ripken plays all those games in a row if there wasn't a record to be had.
  7. Buerle, Kline, Palmeiro, Damon, Big Mac(ummm, yeah, could I get a side order of steroids) I really hate mcgwire
  8. I've always thought apples and oranges were pretty similar. Both are spherical fruits(think Bruce Vilanch and Dom Deluise). Both grow on trees. Both are put in lunchboxes. I would think apples and bananas or oranges and onions would be better combos of things not to compare. And besides, if you're calling Cub players 'fruits', then how can you leave out Murton? (sad, I know, but I couldn't resist)
  9. I'll be convinced we lost something in Farnsworth when he puts together 2 years of good pitching. And Scott Moore looks like he might be a decent prospect.
  10. I'm asking if they are.
  11. Our team got beat," manager Tony La Russa said. "We had one really good chance and Maddux showed us why he's a 300-game winner - he got Albert Pujols. We had a chance to make it a really close game, and he got him out. Big out for them. "Really, they just beat us." and duncan was talking about perez and macias' hits...and we all know he's right about their hits being lucky. by the way, is pujols getting booed at wrigley? i don't think there's really any reason to, but the "greatest fans in the world ever, bar none, no question" booed Derek Lee. and everyone knows what a jerk Derek Lee is with his holdouts and complaining and tripping old people.
  12. I'd like to see Nomar out in LF next year. I think it'd be better for his groin and Achilles. Plus, if he's healthy, then his offense would be more than adequate. Definitely better than whatever we've had out there THIS year.
  13. I hope Sheffield's not on it. I like his moxie. He's got a lot of spunk.
  14. I can't remind you, but I can applaud your moxie.
