  1. I would worry about injuries and age more than fit with Wade. It's apparent the Bulls need any kind of scoring they can get. Plus the idea of Wade and Rose switching PG duties intrigues me. Rose is very good off the ball. A shooting big man would still be a necessity if you sign Wade because they would both need a pick and roll partner.
  2. I'm starting to waver on this one. Wade is an amazing player while Bosh has never really played on a good team. He's definitely 2nd fiddle to Rose if he signs here--which is fine. You sign Wade and you've got two of the top 10 players in the game potentially...you figure everything else out from there.
  3. I'll say that I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears had the best defense in the division next year but pretty stunned if they had the best offense, especially if Favre comes back. Even so, I would expect the Packers offense to blow ours out of the water even if we did get some decent linemen.
  4. Who were the two good players we got rid of on defense? I'll give you Brown but am I missing someone else? Kevin Payne is not good enough to start. Harris is much better. I agree with the offensive line part but the safety play was so bad last year that I can see taking BPA between those positions in the draft with your high pick.
  5. Yes, the Bulls would be one of the worst teams in the league with Rondo as PG instead of Rose. They would be historically bad on offense (instead of merely bad which they are) and while they might defend well they would stop putting in the effort with no scoring threat.
  6. That's an interesting theory. http://www.basketballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=409 That sort of indicates that Lebron is a monster on D against over matched international players but sort of ordinary as an offensive playmaker. His ORtg is less than Bosh and Howards. I do think Lebron's value on defense has been understated. He was devastating against the Bulls with his help D.
  7. You put Rondo on the Bulls and Rose on the Celtics and the Bulls are battling with the Nets and TPups while the Celtics are right there with Orlando and Cleveland. If Rose had a pick and roll player as good as Garnett and actual three point shooters he'd blow Rondo out of the water. It is an insult to say Rose is worse than Rondo because it is laughably false. Let's also throw in the fact the no coach, GM, or scout in the universe would take Rondo over him.
  8. But right now he is. No. At best Rose .v. Rondo is a tossup. Give Rose, Johnson and Bosh to run with and we will see if Rose .v. Rondo is even a debate. Right now, if Rondo has an advantage it is slight. Just looking at the stat line between the two, I don't see how it would be clear at all that Rondo is better than Rose, even currently. Certainly potential is on Rose's side. Obviously Rose has potential on his side, but it'd be nice if he played any sort of defense before people start calling him superior to Rondo. Wouldn't it be nice if Rondo stopped murdering innocents in the stands by violently bricking open jumpers?
  9. But right now he is. The idea that Rondo could've led this Bulls team to a .500 record with all the injuries, cap space jettisons, and coaching nonsense is utterly laughable. He's not a #1 option on any decent team. He's a complimentary piece and he always will be.
  10. Can we keep SSR's clear mental illness out of this thread? That Rondo talk is exhausting. You're seriously mentally incapacitated in some regard if you think Rondo is better than Rose.
  11. Get the [expletive] out of here with Varejao being on the same planet as Dwight. Dwight isn't a good offensive player but he's a legitimate top 5 MVP vote getter because of his defense. Varejao is a nice piece. Howard is a franchise player almost entirely because of his defense. Lebron is the monster on defense on the Cavs. Almost Pippen-like. Anyway, not the worst season all things considered. I think VDN is gone and we getting a shooter + Bosh SHOULD be realisitic.
  12. Reggie Miller needs to get off TV.
  13. Can you imagine a coach that would call for isolating Rose less than VDN? He always brings Noah to set a screen. It's insanity--there isn't anyone one the planet who can stay in front of Rose 1-on-1 consistently but Vinny always wants to bring a 2nd defender to him.
  14. I think you're thinking of Brandon McGowan. Harris started on the 05 and 06 teams and was pretty productive.
  15. I'm reading a (surprisingly active) Panthers message board and apparently Harris was mouthing off on Twitter about management cutting Brad Hoover. They also picked up some other DBs recently. The good news is that the general consensus seems to be that they're trading a player who was very good for them and they're praying the replacements are adequate.
  16. okay, now it won't be good to have him back. jamar williams is a star waiting to happen. LB is deep and the safeties are bad. Harris/Wright should be a huge upgrade over the MASH unit that was back there last year.
  17. Marcus Fizer is not walking through that door.
  18. Vasgersian was my favorite.
  19. It's easier to digest a big blowout than just a moderate blowout. Now I'm not hanging on every play.
  20. Lebron fouls with impunity and then complains when he doesn't get a clear path called.
  21. The difference between the UC crowd and the one OKC had yesterday is night and day.
  22. Miller makes a lot of dumb plays for a savvy veteran. Know your limitations.
  23. I don't watch a lot of MAC football but that Freddie Barnes guy we signed as an UDFA was unstoppable last year. He had 155 receptions for 1,770 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2009.
  24. Chicago Bears Summary: Chicago was absent for two rounds, but tried to address needs when they entered the picture. The Bears neither reached nor got amazing value in Major Wright, the Florida safety. But they needed a safety, and Wright has a real chance to fill that void. Corey Wootton wasn't 100 percent in 2009 after coming off a bad knee injury, and could be a camp surprise. A decent pick. Overall, like any team stuck outside the top two rounds, the Bears were hard-pressed to find impact talent, but they were resourceful given their limitations. (The late add of a local quarterback never hurts.) Draft grade: B
