  1. i put the odds of poles not being able to hire his next head coach/quarterback as pretty much 0% after the packers game but we're entering 3rd/4th standard deviation trash fire status so i'll put it at like 10% now
  2. the last and only one that i can think of that was hired straight to be an nfl HC authored this gem:
  3. i'll throw in brian johnson oc for the eagles and jim bob cooter oc for the colts as guys that seem to have the trajectory we should be looking for as well i like the huskies guys because that offense is absolutely unstoppable and has tons of explosive plays in it, the play design there reminds me of early mcvay. saban tried to hire their OC and washington gave him a huge raise to retain him.
  4. i think we should start a long list of potential HC candidates. as much of a dumpster fire as this is, in a vacuum you should be able to sell an offensive QB/development guru looking for their first top job on chicago with the assets in the pipeline. i don't want anyone who hasn't called plays before or hasn't had the top job (if they want to give up play calling duties that's fine) and no defensive guys ffs. kinda spitballing here: - eric bienemy OC for the commanders - kalen deboer - HC for the washington huskies - ryan grubbs - OC for the washington huskies - ben johnson - OC for the lions - kellen moore - OC for the chargers - shane waldron - OC for the seahawks - harbaugh - lincoln riley?!
  5. glad i don't live in chicago and miss The Discourse around that
  6. kicking the field goal is pathetic cowardice
  7. this is as bad as dalibor bagarich era bulls basketball but without being still in the afterglow of an world historical dynasty
  8. i actually think this team is incapable of proper stat padding
  9. might be hard to outtank them next week
  10. do the broncos have their own first round pick in 2024? i know they gave up a bunch of stuff for wilson.
  11. kelce should watch the 2nd half of the game with taylor
  12. i wish greg olsen would go scorched earth on the bears
  13. herbert didn't even begin to start securing the ball at any point he was in the space there
  14. this bend then break defense is doing wonders
  15. if mahomes makes that side arm throw fields just made the media goes nuts!
  16. as long as ball carriers consistently get to the 2nd level on the bears brisker will get shaken up or worse pretty much every game
  17. lol nd had 10 men on the field on the game winning play
  18. that oregon/colorado spread of 20.5 and +650 on the ML is kind of insane it would be completely normal for oregon to lose to a less talented team in a huge spot not even factoring in the buffs probably have the best player on the field and he's the QB
  19. poverty franchise
  20. to be a fly on the wall when peanut told eberflus et. al. that they had a egregious pederast (allegerdly) in their midst
  21. no qb whose processing is hopelessly flawed is going to survive as a starter--but even if it were true that coaches can't help make processing/reading defenses better (i don't really believe that) there's no reason to absolve them of it especially when the rest of the team is crap
  22. if this were true, then i'm not sure why any quarterback would get better at reading defenses under one coach than an another
  23. well when the rest of the team sucks ass, including the coach's supposed speciality, i'm going to go with yes
  24. did poles really hire flus though? he was hired like two days after poles was hired and yeah I’m sure it came up during poles interview process but it seems like it was foisted on him would anyone who grew up in and around the reid/mahomes chiefs be like “yeah gotta get a defensive guy to coach my team and young qb” I always felt poles went along with flus because there are only so many GM jobs and he was given assurances of getting a chance to get his own qb/hc combo if the fields/eberflus thing didn’t work out
