  1. John Hollinger's article tomorrow: why Dirks performance surpasses anything Jordan did ever
  2. Every time I look Dirk is taking regular free throws.
  3. Every time I look Dirk is taking technical free throws.
  4. Weak draft or not he's probably gonna go #1 which tells me he's at least in the ballpark as far as how good a prospect he's viewed as. Plus DWill and Paul went 3/4 after Bogut and Marvin freakin' Williams. Not exactly world beaters either.
  5. They'll probably get Kemba or Jimmer instead
  6. The Pistons would be lucky to get Knight. They're like the unathletic version of those Golden State teams from a few years ago--and endless collection of tweener forwards, combo guards, and swingmen
  7. No, PGs without college experience have never been picked #1 because I said so.
  8. Am I forgetting someone or wasn't Greg Monroe clearly the 2nd best rookie (not including Griffin) this season? Doesn't speak too highly of last years draft either. Everything has sucked compared to the 08 class.
  9. Meaning you gotta be a freakishly athletically wing or a center to be picked #1 overal without playing any college ball. I don't know a lot about Irving but it seems like he's getting the floor general CP3/DWill type billing...except those guys had a lot of college seasoning and still didn't go #1.
  10. They could hypothetically land the 1 and 2 pick. At least it would get them something. I love how Irving plays like 5 games in freshman year and is gonna probably be a top 3 pick. People used to play in zero games their (nonexistent) freshman year and were picked No. 1 overall. Not PGs.
  11. I heard Knight was one of those weirdo Myron Rolle types that likes to get good grades and has other interests besides basketball.
  12. What's the case for Irving over Knight? Irving had a cup of coffee in college and it seems odd that he's so hyped for a guy that's billed as a heady floor general like Chris Paul. Knight's pretty damn good. Good size, apparently a good head on his shoudlers, and he can flat out shoot.
  13. I hate old timey fetishists but it really is pretty hilarious some of the physical plays from the 80s and early 90s that only drew run of the mill personal fouls.
  14. Look at Rondo lay out Rudy Tomjanovich here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k1i4Ddngg8 Why this little [expletive] is still allowed in the league is beyond me
  15. raw, you're just saying some silly things in this thread. Kobe did not approach Jordan as a pure athlete at any point in his career.
  16. The (in)famous Damon Jones game where he accumulated a trillion while somehow playing 12 minutes.
  17. Now things are opening up for Illinois to make an inspired hire like Ty Willingham.
  18. No way, no how is Lebron quicker off the bounce than a young MJ. He's "freakier" cuz of his size/speed combination. But pure quickness off the bounce? No, not close.
  19. When Taj dunked that put back my legs went limp and I fell to the ground like Chris Bosh taking a vicious air elbow from Boozer.
  20. There was a promo for the new Cameron Diaz movie "The Bad Teacher" in which Jason Segal is arguing with a student about Lebron V. Jordan. Student: Oh, your entire argument is six championships? Segal: That's the only argument I need! That about sums it up. We can also discuss how next year would put Lebron at the age where Jordan won his first title. Then we can move on to the assorted bags of crap that were Lebron's teammates up until this year. and you said the cavs without lebron were better than the bulls last year. or maybe that was TT. Everyone knows Rose/Noah, Mo Williams/Varejao, and Devin Harris/Brook Lopez were all reasonable facsimiles of each other and all 3 pairings are miles behind the vaunted Gallinari/Wilson Chandler combo the Knicks were sporting in order to attract FAs.
  21. I'd like to see some kind of statistical breakdown of what happened when either Noah, Gibson, or Asik switched onto Lebron or Wade off of a screen.
  22. And apparently Thibs and Deng huddled before the game to say if they shut Lebron down that they'd just say he missed shots he normally makes.
  23. Deng was unreal, can't get over it. Thanks Oprah for giving him a couple of days before game 2.
