  1. I'm sensing a fight or two is in the cards
  2. Swing the [expletive] bat what the [expletive]
  3. John King of CNN was in that Green Monster box where Papi's homer landed. And if his work on the night Bin Laden died is any indication he's on his 43rd beer or so.
  4. Harden is ridiculously talented.
  5. How dare you suggest that this fine gentleman isn't anything but a barrel full of laughs: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_R440eNEqeGY/TKDnEGiXJMI/AAAAAAAABO8/NDqwA_lOly4/s1600/brian+windhorst.jpg
  6. Say Lebron quietly (relative to the spectacle of The Decision) signed with the Clippers. He'd have a couple of legit young studs to play alongside with, they'd wreck [expletive], and he'd only be loathed in Cleveland for the most part. It was The Decision and the fact that he executed a clearly premeditated plan to team up with established stars that created all the vitriol.
  7. And I'm the one being obtuse?? I'm not following. Whether the player came across awesome teammates from leaving by free agency, or his GM actually being good doesn't make a difference. The whining about Lebron comes from the fact that he can't do it himself, and needs help, well so did everyone, even St. Michael. You honestly think Jordan would have sat around wasting his career with Jamario Moon and Wally Szczerbiak if that's what Krause surrounded him with? Wasting your career with Jamario Moon and Wally World is one thing and going to team up with your natural rival is something else. Would Jordan have stuck around in Chicago if he continued to play with the Brad Sellers' of the world? Maybe not. But he wasn't going to call up Isiah and Magic to team up either. And that's not something that is specific to Jordan either. There's just a level of fraternization between all the stars these days that didn't exist even 10 years ago. They play AAU ball together, text/tweet all offseason, etc. It's all buddy buddy now.
  8. And I'm the one being obtuse?? I'm not following.
  9. I also enjoy this mythical universe we inhabit where all the all time former greats are just lobbing grenades constantly at Lebron for going to Miami to team up with Wade and Bosh. As far as I can tell, it's them saying they wouldn't have done it themselves when they invariably get asked their thoughts on it by the media at various charities and wherever it is that NBA legends go. The horror. Won't someone please think of poor Lebron?
  10. by sidekick do you mean "guy who averaged more points, rebounds and assists per game than dwyane wade"? also i love the leap of logic here. lebron went from probably being the best player in the league last year, when his surrounding cast sucked, to not being the best player in the league this year because he has another great player on his team. It's still not his team. I know that flies in the face of every metric and stat, etc., but the reality is that the Heat are Wade's team. LeBron's choice to play there was almost universally panned by every former NBA superstar, all saying that they would never have tried to piggyback onto another star's team. So it's Wade's team because Scottie Pippen was drafted to the Bulls. Got it. Are you being intentionally obtuse or do you really not see the difference between a guy (in Scottie's case, something of a project coming from a tiny school that had never, ever produced NBA talent) being drafted to your team where you are unquestionably the alpha dog and going to play with two other guys who were the clear cut #1 options on their own teams?
  11. John Hollinger's article tomorrow: why Dirks performance surpasses anything Jordan did ever
  12. Every time I look Dirk is taking regular free throws.
  13. Every time I look Dirk is taking technical free throws.
  14. Weak draft or not he's probably gonna go #1 which tells me he's at least in the ballpark as far as how good a prospect he's viewed as. Plus DWill and Paul went 3/4 after Bogut and Marvin freakin' Williams. Not exactly world beaters either.
  15. They'll probably get Kemba or Jimmer instead
  16. The Pistons would be lucky to get Knight. They're like the unathletic version of those Golden State teams from a few years ago--and endless collection of tweener forwards, combo guards, and swingmen
  17. No, PGs without college experience have never been picked #1 because I said so.
  18. Am I forgetting someone or wasn't Greg Monroe clearly the 2nd best rookie (not including Griffin) this season? Doesn't speak too highly of last years draft either. Everything has sucked compared to the 08 class.
  19. Meaning you gotta be a freakishly athletically wing or a center to be picked #1 overal without playing any college ball. I don't know a lot about Irving but it seems like he's getting the floor general CP3/DWill type billing...except those guys had a lot of college seasoning and still didn't go #1.
  20. They could hypothetically land the 1 and 2 pick. At least it would get them something. I love how Irving plays like 5 games in freshman year and is gonna probably be a top 3 pick. People used to play in zero games their (nonexistent) freshman year and were picked No. 1 overall. Not PGs.
  21. I heard Knight was one of those weirdo Myron Rolle types that likes to get good grades and has other interests besides basketball.
  22. What's the case for Irving over Knight? Irving had a cup of coffee in college and it seems odd that he's so hyped for a guy that's billed as a heady floor general like Chris Paul. Knight's pretty damn good. Good size, apparently a good head on his shoudlers, and he can flat out shoot.
