  1. It took him until Houston was up double digits (after being down 15) for him to say they'd come alive
  2. welp, first back to back regular season losses in over a year
  3. Earl Boykins ball pressure murdering our PGs
  4. Defense went to crap
  5. Yeah KU might want to stop posting up Withey
  6. "Ahhh [expletive]!"
  7. If you consider regular season performance equivalent to postseason performance. Every all time great team throws up a kickass regular season or two during their run before "savvy vets throttling it back and saving it for the playoffs" mode. Besides, they didn't even win the championship last year.
  8. Don't we have ~150 games of fairly solid evidence that the Heat are a very good but not overwhelming team?
  9. That wasn't traveling
  10. Meanwhile I close my eyes and think about that overflowing pipeline full of NBA talent that is the Big 10
  11. I can't believe a sports talk radio host wrote that. Pretty impressive. Anyhow: http://i.imgur.com/9nxZV.gif
  12. Naturally he buries a three in Jarrett Jack's face to grab the lead with 20 seconds left. 3/21
  13. Kobe is 2-20 from the field
  14. what are you asking? How you can say "obviously this job isn't that great when you were rejected by your 1st 2 options, and wound up with a meh candidate." Was UNC 2000 obviously not a great job? Was UK 2007 obviously not a great job? I thought Matt Doherty was considered a home run and Gillispie a pretty damn good hire? Doherty was like their 6th choice. buh, I guess you're right. I remember ND being better than they were when Doherty was coaching them. They had a very high profile bubble bursting IIRC.

  16. I never weighed in one way or another. IL definitely has a better recruiting base, but my amended list would seem to pretty clearly put Louisville ahead. Louisville had the good fortune of being able to hire a Hall of Fame coach who wanted to stick it his former blue blood program. Outside of that, Illinois is a better job, IMO.
  17. How? I think its a top 15 program. Even if all of the teams on abucks list were better than us. That still puts us at 15. I mean sure his list is awful, he didn't include Indiana in it, but even using it we are right at 15. Clearly the job isn't that great otherwise they wouldn't have crapped the bed on the coaching search, but you keep changing conversations between historical rankings, current ratings and how good the job is. By getting our third choice? Did Gunether crap the bed when he got Self? Because he wasn't his first choice. We still got a young coach that was in demand and would have been in more demand in one year. Self and Weber were definitely hotter candidates than Groce is at the time they were hired by Illinois weren't they?
  18. Tom Thibodeau is the greatest basketball mind in the world

  20. Seriously, what a lot of unlikable goons this turned out to be(and I'd have preferred Baylor to OSU). Do you guys hate Louisville/Pitino that much? Maybe it's because their win clinched two pools for me yesterday, but I don't mind this Kansas team all that much. It's only a few Big 12 honks and hysterical Illini fans here that think everyone across the country hates KU hoops like they are Duke or ND football
  21. Top 5, IMO ... I'm honestly having trouble thinking of a more memorable moment if that had gone in. Jordans shot against Russell, ruths called shot, Buckner ball, fluties hail mary, that's all I got. Duh Laettners shot. Jordan's shot isn't even close. I'm also not sure how Laettner would be more memorably when it was an elite 8 game from 15 feet compared to the championship from halfcourt. um Jordan's shot isnt decidedly less famous than ruth, laettner, or flutie.
  22. hahaha stupidest win ever
  23. If/when Illinois is good again I bet illiniguy will never bitch about anything relating to the team
