  1. So I watched South Carolina twice last season so I may not be the best guy to judge. I saw them play early in the year and almost lose to Vanderbilt I think and I watched them play Michigan in whatever bowl. Except for the "play" where the Michigan rb gets de-helmeted, I barely noticed him in those games. Lewan really had Clowney under control most of the game. Clowney was left un-blocked on the "play". Couple that with a player with too-much hair for his helmet and it looks great, but was not really that great of an individual play. Is he really this clear cut number one without any doubt talent or is it somewhat over-hyped? Ask Tajh Boyd and Aaron Murray if Clowney is overrated. I watched every single South Carolina game last year specifically because of Clowney. He's the best defensive player I've seen in college football in the past decade; Suh and Peppers are the closest I can think of. You must have missed all the awards Te'o won. More awards named after players you couldn't pick out of a lineup = better
  2. Is Onyewu considered a disappointment or a sad case of injuries taking away from his potential? Seems like this guy was being marketed as a rising star a few years ago.
  3. Huh Andrew Goudelock is on the the summer league roster. Dude actually started playoff games for the Lakers this season.
  4. Not a fan of Ellis at the money and years he's looking for.
  5. TIL: Carlos Boozer has a younger brother who is going to be on the Bulls summer league roster and his first name is Charles.
  6. I'd say Kaepernick is the most ripe for a slump next year, especially with Crabtree out. They're so talented everywhere else it might not matter though.
  7. Jaws put Cutler at #14 in his QB rankings. Here's the list so far... 32) Flynn 31) Locker 30) Kolb 29) Henne 28) Sanchez 27) Ponder 26) Weeden 25) Vick 24) Tannehill 23) Palmer 22) Bradford 21) Freeman 20) Smith 19) Dalton 18) Newton 17) Rivers 16) Stafford 15) Romo 14) Cutler So he's behind some combination of Rodgers, Brady, P. Manning, Brees, Roethlisberger, Ryan, Flacco, E. Manning, Wilson, RG3, Luck, Schaub, and Kaepernick.
  8. Uhhh... http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1492969/referee-beheaded-killing-player-brazil?cc=5901
  9. Knew this would happen. By the way, errbody, Dwight is a diva, annoying, overrated etc, but he just took less money to go to a better team, have a better chance at a title and didn't draw it out longer than he said he would. Worth mentioning.
  10. Eh, what was their ceiling if Howard came back? They scraped to an 8th seed last year WITH Kobe. The only FA worth getting in 2014 for that team is Lebron. I don't think having Dwight or not changes Lebron's likelihood of signing there much. And they gave up Andrew Bynum in the process. No huge loss in retrospect.
  11. Iggy to the Warriors. Bogut/Barnes for Howard still in play?? Curry, Thompson, Iggy, Lee, Howard would be nasty.
  12. Deng's minutes will come down this year a bit. He'll still probably be top 5-10 league wide in minutes played. Noah I expect to get back down to 32-34. Thibs was handcuffed there last year because Nazr was putting up some historically woeful numbers (he was shooting less than 20% from the field last year for a good portion of the season, IIRC). If he can do what he did in the playoffs he'll take some of Noah's load. Probably another veteran minimum big will be brought in to (Brand, plz).
  13. If anything it's better because no one expects for him to win right away.
  14. You don't get why someone would want to jump from Butler to one of the most storied franchises in the NBA?
  15. The Cubs threatening to win the World Series is the only thing that will (temporarily) halt the secular decline in baseball's popularity.
  16. If it's Nazr or somebody else it really does need to be somebody that can legitimately spell Noah during the regular season. Gotta get him back to that 32-34 minute range, IMO.
  17. I don't hate it.
  18. Not real comfortable letting Forman have final say over Thibs' staff.
  19. Canadians are dorks so I'd say the chances are pretty high.
  20. Sounds like there are questions about Snell's motor and ability to make am impact on defense. Doesn't sound like a guy who will play much early on.
  21. Uhhhh Philly giving up Jrue Holliday and a first rounder for Noel?
  22. Noel to Sixers?
  23. I think that sort of approach is broadly correct for the Celtics. What value is there in eeking out another playoff appearance on the backs of Pierce and KG? They should hoard picks, cap space, and be as terrible as possible for the 2014 draft.
  24. Can you build a deal for Aldridge or Love around Butler, Mirotic, and the Charlotte pick? Portland has no use for Deng with Batum in the fold.
