  1. Deng's minutes will come down this year a bit. He'll still probably be top 5-10 league wide in minutes played. Noah I expect to get back down to 32-34. Thibs was handcuffed there last year because Nazr was putting up some historically woeful numbers (he was shooting less than 20% from the field last year for a good portion of the season, IIRC). If he can do what he did in the playoffs he'll take some of Noah's load. Probably another veteran minimum big will be brought in to (Brand, plz).
  2. If anything it's better because no one expects for him to win right away.
  3. You don't get why someone would want to jump from Butler to one of the most storied franchises in the NBA?
  4. The Cubs threatening to win the World Series is the only thing that will (temporarily) halt the secular decline in baseball's popularity.
  5. If it's Nazr or somebody else it really does need to be somebody that can legitimately spell Noah during the regular season. Gotta get him back to that 32-34 minute range, IMO.
  6. I don't hate it.
  7. Not real comfortable letting Forman have final say over Thibs' staff.
  8. Canadians are dorks so I'd say the chances are pretty high.
  9. Sounds like there are questions about Snell's motor and ability to make am impact on defense. Doesn't sound like a guy who will play much early on.
  10. Uhhhh Philly giving up Jrue Holliday and a first rounder for Noel?
  11. Noel to Sixers?
  12. I think that sort of approach is broadly correct for the Celtics. What value is there in eeking out another playoff appearance on the backs of Pierce and KG? They should hoard picks, cap space, and be as terrible as possible for the 2014 draft.
  13. Can you build a deal for Aldridge or Love around Butler, Mirotic, and the Charlotte pick? Portland has no use for Deng with Batum in the fold.
  14. Idonije signed with the Lions on a 1 year deal
  15. OKC reportedly very active in trying to trade for the #1 pick? Interesting.
  16. Word is that it was an overzealous autograph seeker and not a disgruntled server upset about his tip
  17. Pippen turned himself in. Felony assault. Yikes.
  18. I'm sure there will be some nice players. No one that is going to change the course of a franchise. The Cavs are in a unique position where they can work their 2014 plan by being bad or being respectable this season and it probably won't mean much one way or another to Lebron. The other lottery teams, there's no value in getting marginally better and playing yourself out of the Wiggins sweepstakes (or the half dozen other guys who would go #1 in this draft).
  19. I think the Cavs can probably do both. They'll be better next year with improved health and growth from younger players, and they have so many assets in this draft that they can do something like trade the #1 pick and still have more draft assets than the average team to add young/cheap players or make further moves. I could be wrong, but it looks like they'd have the chips to do something like trade for Aldridge and still give LeBron a max deal without touching Irving/Waiters/Thompson. That would make for a frightening starting 5 with a lot of upcoming picks still to help fill in a bench. All that said, #1 for Deng or even #19 for Deng doesn't make any sense. There's a 31 & 33 for Paul Pierce rumor that would achieve a very similar goal for far fewer in assets. Yeah but this draft sucks
  20. I meant in general. The Cavs rumor mentioned that Gilbert wants to be respectable this year, which really makes no sense. Sell the fan base on the 2014/Lebron plan and get another sexy asset in place in a loaded draft next year. Deng might put the Wizards on the cusp of respectability which would get them nowhere in the long run.
  21. Did you not get the Victor Oladipo memo?
  22. The Bulls are not going to pass on the next Michael Jordan for Ben Mclemore.
