    Well said. I hate the Sox b/c of their fans. I'm going to their game on August 15 against the Twins to root for the Twins. Front-row blecher seats!!

    Macias is the only utlity man and emergancy catcher. He can't go.

    They lost last season when it counted the most while he was hurting. Regardless of Cubs fans pointing out it was a career year for Rolen last year, he's still a career .283, .375 OBP hitter (including this year's .235 AVG). His loss is huge for the Cards, not considering his defense. If I were a Cardinal fan, I'd be concerned that Rolen is going to decline pretty early in his career due to all the back problems he played through on the AstroConcrete in Philly. I wouldn't be in full-scale panic mode that he'd completely fall apart, but I'd at least be a little worried that he'll be severely underproducing his contract value, which is about $60M over the next 5 years.     We should have a seperate forum that tracks all the activity around the majors, and sub-forums for our rivals, instead of all baseball stuff in one forum.

    His contract isn't that bad. Hendry even said he'd have picked up the 2005 option if not for So-So's contract. What I don't get is that Sportmart was still selling Sosa and Alou merchandise in January.

    They're both geezers. Griffey is 35. He is a superstar on decline. Look at Sammy So-So. A geezer who sucks, a massive contract. Alou is underrated. Last year, when Ramirez and Lee weren't producing, he helped carry the team. I even wrote to Tribune and said that So-So should be put on the DL so Jason Dubuis can take his place on the post-season roster, and they agreed.

    Harsh words. I hate the Sox b/c of their fans. I went to the Cell this morning to get tickets to the Sox game vs. the Twins on August 15. I'll be there rooting for the Twins. A couple people asked me what game I was going to, and I said I'm going on August 15 to root for the Twins. I got bleacher seats, front row!

    I would root for the Cardinals for many reasons: 1.) Cubs can then say they were beaten by the best 2.) I hate the Cardinals more than the Sox soley b/c they're a division rival. I hate the White Sox b/c they wine too much and are focused more on the Cubs than themselves and the Twins 3.) I want the Sox to suffer. 4.) As much as I hate the Cards, I have a lot of respect for Albert Pujols, Tony LaRussa, and their players. I would have Pujols' bat on my team any day. 5.) Seeing former Cubs win rings is always nice. I like Grudz. 6.) I would only root for the Cards in the World Series if they played the White Sox. 7.) I would root for the Sox if they played the Cards during the Regular season, for divisional purposes.

    Wood is hurt too much, and it's pitching related. Prior has only had 1 pitching injury. Make Wood a reliver. Rotaation next year: Big Z, Prior, Mad Dog, Rusch, and Williams. Rusch has a player option that he would be wise to decline, WOod is signed through 06, Williams is protected, Prior is under contrac and protected, Big Z is protected, and barring major injury, Mad Dog will vest his 06 contract.

    It's tough for a position player to hit for the cycle. I'd say a perfecct game, which is also tough.

    The Cards will be fine w/o Rolen. They didn't lose much when he was hurt earlier. Pujols is the key to how the Cards do.

    Give Murton some time. Stop dealing away prospects. Adam Dunn is worse than Corey Patterson. All they can do is swing for the fences. Dunn does it more than Patterson, and has less speed.
