I've never really understood this view of Baker, why people say the Cubs should have known better because "the Giants let him go." He was there for ten years, right? Its not like they saw how terrible he was after a year or two and dumped him. I'm not saying he's the best manager, I think most people agree he makes a lot of bad decisions. But if anything, if he's that horrible a manager, then the Giants aren't smart for letting him go, they are dumb for having him there for as long as they did.
