  1. That Sammy HR is still one of the most exciting sports events I've ever seen.
  2. Bahaha Puig is awesome.
  3. I actually couldn't believe that was a Muskat article. It was... surprisingly well-written.
  4. "I remember Jim came to me two days before we got Aramis, and he said, 'What do you think about Aramis Ramirez?'" Wood said. "I said, 'I don't know him personally, but I know he's a tough out.' [Hendry] said, 'Do you think we should get him?' and I said, 'Yesterday.'" Awww
  5. Call me weird, but I think the grand slam was way more awesome than the catch would've been. You're weird.
  6. I WAS AT THE [expletive] GAME
  7. Not that that takes much. I'm pretty sure my 5 yr old has a better grasp of the English language than Magic. He's hard for me to listen to. I heard Magic speak at a private event in which he was stumping for a political candidate. He was beyond horrible and it sounded like English was his second language.
  8. What an awful way to ask the question. At least put him in a lineup if you want to get a real sense. Asking it this way biases the question a HUGE amount. Like every other espn poll.
  9. Pretty much this.
  10. I was at the game tonight. One of the worst crowds I can remember. Quiet, and a lot of first-time attendees who didn't know what the [expletive] they were talking about. It can probably be chalked up to it being a Thursday night game, but still.
  11. I'm all for vacating the entire history of the 1990s Braves.
  12. Now? You wanted something else before? Secretly hoping for Pirates fans to boo the no-no, prompting @bestfansstlouis to expose Cardinals fan freakouts?
  13. Could the TBS camera angles be any worse?
  14. It's hard to explain what that felt like in Game 1. Crowd was pretty amped. Everyone around me was loud. I had a single seat and was by myself so I was chatting with this father and son next to me the whole game. Then that Grand Slam happened. It just sucked the life out of everyone. The rowdiest super fan ever couldnt have brought that crowd back to life. The father and son stopped talking and eventually left in the 7th or 8th, not having said a word to me since the Grand Slam. Suddenly it felt like a late September game circa 2006, not a NLDS game. Yeah, I remember how badly it sucked. I just can't handle the "oh noes the Cubs are losing again" sulking. You're at a playoff game.
  15. Why do you think it is a matter of fans who want to sit on their hands? I was told to sit down by a group of pessimistic fans when I stood to cheer a late Fukudome HR. And the stadium barely made a peep. If you're going to cry every time something bad happens, you're better off not attending.
  16. Oh people are definitely spooked. But fans who want to sit on their hands should stay home, imo. Then again, playing that [expletive] Eddie Vedder song immediately after giving up several runs doesn't help.
  17. Rosenthal surprisingly forthcoming...
  18. It kind of is right now. Next year, if they were in the same situation as Pittsburgh is right now, I'm sure it would be quite lively. It was throughout the 08 playoffs. Expectations were higher, but still, left a bad taste in my mouth.
  19. Wrigley would be a morgue right now.
  20. Jay is having an awesome game
  21. They can be turned off? http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51HSJVTfzrL._SL500_AA280_.jpg
  22. Press Release: Thought the bolded was interesting.
  23. OSU is good but they're going to turn the ball over a couple times against an opportunistic defense. And I'm not particularly concerned about scoring, assuming that Mark is back. The key for me is how our backup CB plays, and who it's going to be (since White has gotten consistently picked on since the Jones injury). Homecoming, GameDay, new unis... Should be awesome.
