#6-Luck. We need baseball magic. We've lost games this year in ways I couldn't imagine. Throwing balls into the dugout after catching a line drive, botched rundowns, you name it. These things usually even out during the season, and we need some luck to fall our way. We need seeing eye singles, bloop doubles, wind blown homeruns, and generous strike zones. And solid defense. No more giving away outs. NO, NO, NO a thousand times NO. I couldn't disagree with you more. You're telling me that over the past century, the Cubs have had equal parts good luck and bad luck? Not a chance. We all know that. You show me a guy that actually believes that the hard outs and soft hits somehow even out over the course of a season, and I'll show you a .250 hitter. The consistently good teams are ALWAYS among the luckiest teams. Sure they are talented, but luck plays a HUGE role in that success. We need some good fortune to finally shine on this franchise and I can't think of a better time for it than RIGHT NOW. (Cue John Belushi and the rest of the Animal House gang running out of the Delta Chi house).... GO CUBS!!!

I wanted to respond to the original post, but the followup couldn't be written any better. Let me add that to suggest Ramirez has a lousy attitude is completely short sighted. He shows up to play every day, even injured, and has never once complained or shown a side of him that would lead anyone to believe his attitude is an issue. On top of it, it is quite clear that he gets along well with his teammates. Errors are part of the game. Sure he could cut down on them but errors happen. Give me Ramirez every day of the week at 3B. -
Yes, it's prevelent around the majors but even more alarming, if you've ever attended a minor league game, it's prevelent there too. It's intolerable, it's inexcusable but unfortunately, nobody seems to be too willing to do much about it. I take that back, Ned Yost benched Bill Hall for the same transgression this past week and stated that his team doesn't play like that. It's up to the manager to discipline that type of carelessness and if it's coming from a marginal player like Hairston, he should immediately be removed and sat for an extended period of time. Speaking of Hairston, if someone doesn't tell that idiot to stop with the kick-step, drag-foot routine when he runs, I may have to run onto the field to tell him myself. I just don't understand how you can act like that when you're merely average.
