    Liked this quote or part of the story "gained an appreciation for putting the ball in play and making so-called productive outs". I've always thought making contact was a good thing for hitters. Sure your big sluggers generally are going to strikeout alot. But, you need also need the other so called contact hittters to round out your lineup to be successful. Then this will bring up the issue of OPS which could be the most important. It's a nice cycle of discussion that could go on and on....

    Yeah injuries may have helped us stink, but to say Dusty has done a fine job with his great lineups, his great double switches and great handling of the bullpen. Big BS!!

    Have to agree here, not good for the team to have them not on the same page. But, could be good for us in the Dusty leaving issue.

    It's to the point of acceptance with anger mixed in. This team likes to make average or below average pitchers look like cy young winners. I don't want to say this, I won't be surprised if the Cardinals come in and sweep the Cubs into 5th place.
