  1. No, you are right on par with our thoughts. What the hell is the point of this deal?? I have a strong inclination that its part of something larger. Tell me if this makes sense For some reason, the reds want Gerut. But, for whatever reason (probably a territorial thing) the Indians GM does not want to trade with him. So, Hendry trades for Gerut. THen spins him to CIncy in a package for dunn. He could be the "Established major league position player" that we have talked about in the dunn threads. THoughts? I really doubt it, I mean is any GM really lusting for jody? How do you know about the Red want him? That said the Cubs need OBP REALLY bad. This does the trick a little... too bad he plays LF. The are playing well, maybe henry is going for it and getting Dunn...
  2. Posted a poll asking who you'd rather have. I'm interested to see the results. New to the board, I hope I'm not coming off as a cards fan troll.
  3. Jason Dubois or Jody Gerut?
  4. Dubois is 2 years younger and has fewer years of service. If i were a cub fan I don't think I'd be happy. Dusty will feel better playing Jody tho..
  5. I'll miss Shingo... I enjoyed watching him making guys look silly by throwing soft junk. Too bad the AL figured him out.
  6. really? the only one of those three i even consider over prior is santana, and i doubt i'd take him, either. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. When Prior is healthy, he is amazing. As we all know, that hasn't been very often. Everyone talks about Santana, but Jake Peavy is a STUD! I haven't seen Harden pitch enough. I just looked up Peavy and all I can say is wow. I knew his ERA was low but I didn't realize his K rate was so high. Considering how healthy he's been I'd take him over Prior to. Good call on that one.
  7. Prior no doubt. I'd take Santana over him but thats it.
  8. woo, the first snoty post directed toward me. I just got goosebumps   Anyway, I just thought the part about DLee and AP's homerun production might be interesting in this debate.
  9. Hey new cards fan here. If voting ended today I'd prolly vote for DLee. However, if he cools a little and the Cubs lose a bunch in the 2nd half I'll throw my support behind AP. That said, what about park effects on those numbers? An interesting article by Rob Neyer... http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/allstar05/columns/story?columnist=neyer_rob&id=2105528
