I don't think he's a citizen yet.

I rate him, and want to see him at the next level to see if he has the speed of thought to compete there, because he's athletic enough and dickish enough to be successful there. He's a high floor guy and he's still pretty young.

-Mix is one of those guys that looks meh in practice and then goes out and plays well in games. Coaches like JK can't handle those guys. I'd say if he keeps getting overlooked by Captain Vaporware, he's going to play for Norway. -JK/USSF/SUM scheduling these friendlies before qualifiers is one of the stupider things any US coach has ever done in my life. Aside from the fact that he has some weirdass notion in his head that our team isn't very fit, now we're going to schedule games like this AFTER he runs the guys into the ground after long Euro seasons? Before a critical stretch of games? It's an idiotic moneygrab and they need to knock it the [expletive] off.

Guzan might be a better keeper than Howard anyway. That said, no Donovan, no Howard, Dempsey a fitness battle and the island of misfit CBs are all conspiring to make me really sweat that CRC game.

Having seen a replay of Nani's red now....I mean, I understand why it was called a red, but it's hard to say what Nani could have done differently except not lift his foot high like that. That certainly gives the ref discretion to send you off, especially when something happens at that speed. It's not a joke red like others in CL's past (van Persie's for Arsenal against Barca a couple years ago, in particular was terrible)

I am really enjoying all of this, since it's setting up so well for the hater in me: -Fergie's going to have a stroke after the game -Mourhino is probably going to win Copa Del Ray and has a good shot at winning the CL in a year where the idiots at Real did their idiot thing like they always do down there at FC Hollywood Sur and he ends up with the last laugh, just like at Inter. -Nani's not going to get his contract, which means he'll leave and have some parting shots at SAF on the way out

The tifo and umbrellas were awesome, and of course the best anthem performance in sports. Contrast that with the 76 people that were at the HDC last night for the CUSA game. (F that franchise). Side note: having MDL on my Roku=I'm going to be drinking and watching a lot of games this year. I'm really excited. Why has Chivas found itself in such a mess? Because branding your team Chivas immediately alienated a massive chunk of your market in LA; the team's been mismanaged terribly and run as basically a CD Guadalajara tribute band as opposed to an actual team on it's own. The team last night was like the first 45 minutes of Major League. One of their starters wasn't on their roster 24 hours prior.
