  1. Feldman must love pitching in the heat. Nice game so far.
  2. A sunk cost is a sunk cost. If it made sense financially to move, it wouldn't matter what happens with those real estate investments. Except the 'cost' is an asset that will lose value if the team moves, so its not really a sunk cost in the traditional sense.
  3. Matt Sczcur may be the next RH OF platoon partner, just have to wait a little longer for that glorious moment.
  4. Angelo was the GM for over a decade and kept his job by getting starters in the mid rounds. It seems that everyone but Mills from this draft could contribute immediately. I think its a very solid imprint on the roster by Emery as Mayock said. How many GMs have had really good teams for years on end that have consistently screwed up their first rounders? That's a fair point. Teams like the Saints miss here and there but get enough talented starters through the draft to supplement a great team. I guess my main idea was that as long as you get productive players in the draft, it doesn't matter what round they come in. However, only being able to get impact talent in the mid-rounds isn't sustainable and will lead to a GM getting fired.

  6. .114 BABIP against righties and a .313 BABIP against lefties probably has something to do with it. I think a 25% LD% vs lefties over against 12% vs righties explains that BABIP variance. PackLandVa may have identified a cause for that low BABIP. His BB% is lower against RHP too (12.1 to 7.7). He's swinging often and swinging hard vs RHP. He's hitting a lot of HRs and a lot of popups. Well, not all of the low BABIP can be attributed to that. Someone posted in a game thread the other day that Rizzo has a BABIP of .300 on his line drives alone.
  7. The frequency that people mix up Scott and Jerry Hairston is astounding. I've had a couple of friends say they don't understand the Cubs getting an outfielder without power like Hairston (have to be thinking that he's Jerry given Scott's career .200 ISO)
  8. Grilli finally gave up a run, but still notched the save against the Cardinals.
  9. Between the Cypriot banking sector and NBA officials, the Russian mob's investments aren't reaping huge dividends lately.
  10. Kerr is going way out of his way to not question any of the calls.
  11. Lopez playing out of control, so might as well foul out Gibson.
  12. Love the chokes by CJ this series.
  13. Only the fresh legs can make jumpers now. And the players with plantar fascitis.
  14. There's only one thing left to do, win the whole damn thing.
  15. Please end this here.
  16. Hinrich, Boozer and Robinson all with 5 fouls. Hinrich and Deng each over 48 minutes. This can't go on too long.
  17. Well darn, that's tough.
  18. I'll say, I do love when terrible offense gets rewarded.
  19. Oh, dear. At least there's enough time left to get the ball to an open guy.
  20. I don't think this was close at all. He even used the floor to get leverage and throw the ball off Boozer.
  21. I see they are in give up mode, on to game 5.
