  1. they should release him immediately -- broken hands are no good in baseball
  2. I don't particularly mind the idea, but who does he replace? Cedeno?
  3. Summed up perfectly by Hendry saying that whether or not they trade for a bat depends on how they hit the rest of this week. Floyd was really good yesterday, so we don't need another bat. We can just depend on him the rest of the year. did you see how far he hit that one foul ball? we're set. he'll straighten those out
  4. made me laugh  why? Because it's funny really? really. no, not really
  5. Racist. you're kidding, right? You're kidding (about me kidding), right? Are you kidding? you've got to be kidding me
  6. how is he still employed?
  7. John Gibbons might disagree
  8. Spears -- with all the stupid crap them hos keep pulling, it'll happen to the one who has kids to make the stupidity somehow tragic and unfortunate
  9. Not trying to pick on you man - really I am not - but I don't understand what you would have against Ted at this point. He's been very good for the most part. I have nothing against him. I love Ted and glad he is a Cub. I just don't appreciate him..thats all. That doesn't make sense. :? it seldom does

  11. I'd put Soriano in RF. I'd do that without Dunn
  12. That's Greg Maddux-esqe. Didn't he pitch something like a 82 pitch shutout in Yankee Stadium in the late '90's when he was w/ the Braves? what, no love for the Liebs? http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200105240.shtml
  13. that's a double-digit difference over the course of a season -- I'd call that a major jump considering he probably should have been on the decline
  14. Kendall is a free agent after the season. Maybe I missed your point. I'm guessing if he hits over the Mendoza line he'll be re-signed
  15. Clement would probably also love the move to Des Moines considering he's from Marshalltown and would be blocked by the fantastic Kendall/Blanco duo
  16. this time of year, i keep ESPNRadio on in the car just to catch breaking news. With that, one has to put up with Cowherd and Rome. ugh, I hope I'm never that desperate for news
  17. am I the only one who doesn't listen to Jim Rome?
  18. yuck :?: Vazquez is a good pitcher with a below average contract given the market. Too bad we couldn't take him on with the ownership situation, because I'd deal for him and use Marshall as a chip to get a big bat. Vazquez used to be good and spent the better part of the last few seasons being mediocre at the very best. He's having a good year this year, but the 3 previous years are enough for me to say "yuck" to giving up a lot to get him.
  19. They're currently ranked in the upper half of per game attendance in the major leagues. Just thought I'd note that. If you were aware of that before your post, we define the word "pathetic" differently. Attendance figures account for tickets sold, not butts in the seats. My guess is those numbers are quite skewed when a big market team goes in the tank because they're likely selling more tickets in advance.
