I think I have all of my anger and sadness behind me now. I woke up grumpy but remembered how well this team is built. if the Indians get us, so be it. we'll be back a few more times in the not too distant future, and it actually gives me chills that I can feel that way about the Cubs for the first time in my life.

I'll add Soler to the list of guys I shouldn't criticize, lest I get cussed out. you're criticizing him for all of the wrong reasons. if he was just being some dumb doof watching a ball drop in front of him, fine, but HOLY horsefeathering horsefeathers THERE WAS NO WAY HE WAS CATCHING THAT BALL OR GETTING SOME INSIDE THE PARK HOMERUN ON THAT TRIPLE AS THOUGH HE WAS IN horsefeathering LITTLE LEAGUE. Georgie is not the reason they lost the game, and it's horsefeathering baffling that you seem to believe otherwise

Soler or Heyward or wile e horsefeathering coyote with a rocket strapped to his ass wasn't getting to that hit. Georgie made a good play to get the out at 3rd Soler or Heyward or cocained Pete Rose was going to pause out of the box on the triple. the ball was headed into the seats and the wind is what held it up and kept it in play. nobody short of prime secretariat is scoring on that, and even then he probably completely skips 2nd base and gets called out on appeal

I agree, it was close enough to call a swing, and certainly not egregious. Still, in a WS game, go to the first base ump is there's even a hint of doubt. you absolutely have to get a 2nd opinion there, and I wouldn't have been upset had the 1st base ump said he went too. but the guy who's watching the ball and not the bat shouldn't be calling that
