Go Greg! This start is doing wonders for his inflated ERA. Lets hope he can keep them scoreless. Of course, Maddog has a clause in his contract about the number of innings pitched. He's not stupid. LOL< on a day when he's obviously feeling it (and the opposition has been demoralized) why not try and rack up the innings??? Smart guy.

WGN radio just announced that Nomar should be back by August 1. In the next week or so Nomar should go to rookie leagues. Maddux 2 for 4 (should be 3 for 4)

Well, if a lot of those guys weren't brittle and or ineffective Dusty would have the luxury of having an extra guy on the bench. I see Jerome Williams is in the pen today as well.

Its just the 5th inning. This game isnt over. Maddux usually has a bad inning and our bullpen isn't lights out. We need more runs before clearing the bench.

Yes, even with Dusty managing. If you read between the lines, I think its apparent that Hendry brought up Murton to play (if not to keep him then for a trade). Murton has been rumored to be a part of a trade with the Royals. They obviously have to showcase him. In eithercase, Murton will get into a few games over the remainder of the month leading up to the trade deadline.

I like Murton but he's young and has plenty of at bats in his future. He'll get his chance.
