  1. MLB.com has an unflattering pic of Clement sprawled across the mound.
  2. Call me evil but I'd be happy if neither the Braves nor Nationals made the playoffs. LOL, the Cubs and Phillies sound good to me. Definitely no Astros!
  3. It's possible. But also the Royals game is also in a Rain Delay, and they're doing the "Rain Delay" promo as well, so it could be possible that the Cubs and Royals really want to get those games in, if necessarly. I'm sure the Giants and Cubs would rather not play a double-header, given the fact that they'll have to fly to Milwaukee. Edited: It stopped raining in KC, and the game is almost underway, so hopefully the same in Chicago as well. I can't speak for the Royals but the Cubs do not usually continue with live or semi live coverage during rain delays. Something must be up. My suspicious mind is on overload. lol, I wonder if tomorrow's game is suppose to be on CSN?
  4. Hmmm, I have an evil (lol) capitalist thought! Perhaps, WGN/the Cubs sold higher advertising for this game because of Maddux's pending record setting game? Maybe that explains all the live coverage from the ball park tonight. Just a thought...
  5. The Marlins are down 6-3 to the Pirates in the 6th The Braves are down 2-1 to the Nats in the 8th
  6. One would think they'd have cancelled by now if that's the case. They're not going to cancel at 9 only to have the rain stop as people walk out the door. Very true but the early report was that the rain was going to stop around 8:30 or 9.
  7. Skilling says 9:30 or 10 before the rain stops. I wonder if they wait that long with a day game tomorrow?
  8. What about one of those great Chuck Norris movies??? :ducks: It's very interesting because WGN radio is also talking Cubs. Usually they go to alternate programing (The Milton Rosenburg show) during rain delays. It's very odd (not that I'm complaining). Hmmm, this is making me think. I wonder what Hendry has up his sleeve for the trading deadline???
  9. What about one of those great Chuck Norris movies??? :ducks: LOL, or any other cheesy programing.
  10. With all this LIVE rain delay action/interviews from Wrigley Field it makes me think they will definitely play tonight. Apparently the Cubs dont want to lose the audience they had planned for this time slot. I was expecting the typical rain delay theatre. AKA the Andy Griffith Show or TWIB.
  11. Oswalt is pitching with a 1-0 lead in Houston. Biggio lead off the game with a homer. Roy must have his good stuff so far because Abreu leadoff the next inning with a triple and never scored.
  12. I read on CBS sportsline that the White Sox are trying to get Huff. Yes, I've read that too. The Cubs were also rumored to be hot after him before the whole Adam Dunn/Austin Kearns talk started.
  13. Huff just hit a grand slam in Tampa Bay to tie that Boston score at 5.
  14. Phil Rogers is making me angry! :x :x
  15. Well, only if you hold a grudge against his brother. Who's his brother? How could anyone ever dislike Tom Skilling? Enron's Jeff Skilling
  16. Are you serious? I have to turn that on!
  17. Len just said "the word on the street is 8:30 or 9" if it starts at all. So 1 to 1.5 hours.
  18. Huh? If it was rescheduled as the "night" part of a day night doubleheader, the Cubs would be replacing a night game (tonight) with a night game (the make-up). How would that affect the number of night games? Show me where the Cubs have another night game against the Giants. They don't. This is the Giants only trip to Chicago.
  19. In other news, ATL has placed Hampton back on the DL with a back injury (he was just reactivated).
  20. That will be the Cubs first off day in 18 days. If they play on the 1st they don't have another scheduled day off for 16 more days (I dont think they want to play 35 straight games).
  21. 1. Hairston, CF 2. Walker, 2B 3. Lee, 1B 4. Ramirez, 3B 5. Barrett, C 6. Burnitz, RF 7. Perez, SS 8. Murton, LF 9. Maddux, P Right now it's raining hard. Just heard on the Score, the game may be delayed until 8- 8:30 pm or they may scrap it all together and have a Double Header tomorrow. Gee, the score has a real grasp of the obvious. Wow, I love the sarcasm. The Score didn't report the rain just the delay. They were reporting it almost 3 hours ago. In other words, the team is willing to wait versus postponing the game.
  22. I'm listening to WGN radio now and the Cubs are going to wait as long as they can to play (they dont want to play a double header tomorrow). I believe teams have the discretion to wait as long as they want before starting a game. The unmpires only have control once the lineup cards are exchanged.
  23. That's what Yahoo has, too. Why isn't Ramirez batting cleanup? ](*,) Earlier the lineup was announced on the radio and Ramirez was 4th.... Sportsline also has Burnitz at cleanup. They dont know Dusty's lineup for lefties. Let's just hope this rain moves on in the next hour or two...
