  1. WHAT PLATE DISCIPLINE! YES! MAYBE IZTURIS'S PATIENC E WILL RUB OFF ON TEH CUBS!
  2. Colorado announcers just said, "Speed kills." No kidding.
  3. Rockies announcers point out that only Cedeno came through the Cubs farm system.
  4. Ditto. Edmonds is performing below his 10th percentile projection in PECOTA. That's very unusual. If his problem really is a treatable injury, he might be a bargain if the Cardinals don't bring him back. His projected OBP's for the next four seasons: .396, .392, .401, .419.
  5. Said the guy with 5546 posts.
  6. Jacque Jones is our best hitter with RISP. Hendry must be bummed now. We had the Brewers right where we wanted them. Just snakebit, I guess.
  7. Oh, you can still complain. Just because it worked doesn't mean it was the right move. Now look for Dusty to call for a hit-and-run with Aramis.
  8. And he had a higher OPS than Alfonso Soriano last year. It's hard to number him with Hendry's mistakes.
  9. You don't think playing for one run is a good idea when the team is down by two?
  10. But you like his speed and athleticism, right?
  11. Damage to our offense, maybe. His 2003-2005 stolen base percentage was 66%, less than the break even point of 70%-75%. I'd much rather have Theriot out there than Tony Womack or Neifi Perez, but to badmouth Walker and praise Theriot in the same breath is ridiculous and hurts your credibility. Whatever. Theirot is a better athlete Good. We need more athletes and team speed.
  13. So Walker's slugging % isn't good, but you like Theriot? Theriot's slugging percentages: 2002: .279 2003: .265 2004: .292 2005: .342 All in the minor leagues. He's already 26, and doesn't project to ever slug more than .333 in the majors. But Todd Walker is soft.
  14. You and your stats. Do you even watch the games?
  15. Neifi could take over at 3rd and drive in runs with his glove and veteran leadership.
  16. He only hits HR's when it doesn't matter, much like Adam Dunn.
  17. Izzy would've made that play... Isringhausen is a pitcher for the Cardinals. I doubt he has the range to play shortstop. Moves up on the defensive spectrum rarely work.
  18. Is it all the organization's fault? YOu can definitely make a case for it or did you forget how bad he was abused in 2003? Crazy pitch counts and letting him go out there and pitch when he hurt his arm running the basepaths? Yeah, you can make a case. How's Kerry Wood doing these days? It's important to note that baseball analysts in 2003 were saying that Prior was throwing too many pitches and that Baker's overuse might doom his future. It's not as if all of a sudden we're looking back in hindsight and connecting his injuries with abuse. As Steve Stone would say, many "first-guessed" Baker's usage of Prior and Wood.
  19. 6 in row!! Can he reach 10? At least he's good with the media.
  20. When Fielder took second on the wild pitch, he took the bat out of Gross's hands.
