  1. What is wrong with Roberto Luongo? Seriously he has cost us the last two games and is looking shaky again tonight. Without him playing well, the Canucks are done.
  2. Anyone see Rick Nash's goal against Phoenix today? He skated in alone, undressed two defenders and just humiliated the goalie. The goal of the year so far, with 22 seconds left in a tie game no less.
  3. If the Hart was awarded today, who would you give your vote to? I'd have to vote for Iginla with Luongo in second. Oh and Patrick Sharp signed an extension 4/$15.6. http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=227546&hubname=
  4. Ovechkin resigns for 13 years/124 million, the biggest contract in NHL history. http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=226952&hubname= TruffleSuffle, did you get your sig off hfboards?
  5. Who was calling the game?
  6. What happened?
  7. As a blues fan I am very very happy about this trade, McDonald was not scoring that much so far this year, but neither was Boyes last year and he had turned it around. Hopefully McDonald will do the same. He scored a goal and had an assist in his first game for the blues today so he is off to a good start. I've liked McDonald ever since he was a rookie. He's a speedster who can score a lot if playing on a good line. If they team him up with former teammate and another of my favorite players, Paul Kariya, then he'll be an asset for the Blues. If Selanne comes back but the Ducks don't have any cap space, I think he would be a good fit playing for the Blues with McDonald and Kariya as he has chemistry with both of them.
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3156261 3 years/35.2 milion.
  9. 12 years?!?!? man i wanted him signed long-term, but that's a little absurd. still, the dollars are pretty reasonable for a player with his leadership qualities and all-around ability. Richards doesn't strike me as an Alexei Yashin type of player who would sign a big contract and then just coast. He is all heart, the only worry is if he gets seriously injured down the line but I don't think he has a history of injury problems.
  10. Mike Richards signs a 12 year/69 million contract. http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=225091&hubname=nhl I think this is a great move. I worry about the length but if I had to give a 12 year contract to somebody Richards would be high up on the list. He is a great all around player and will probably be Philly's captain down the road. Should be good watching him and Crosby going head to head for the next 5 years and hopefully more.
  11. The NHL is going back to the pre-lockout schedule format. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=223975&hubname=
  12. Anyone have an idea of when Havlat is coming back?
  13. I think it was real smart of Vigneault to play Luongo yesterday and give Sanford the start today. The last thing the Canucks need is Luongo being taken out.
  14. You were right, he didn't get past Phoenix. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=222992&hubname= I've really been impressed with the Canucks D over the last little while. Edler is a beast.
  15. Yeah its a joke that teams like Pittsburgh and Washington only come here once every 3 years. If Crosby happens to get injured and misses the game versus the Canucks this year, he won't be back here until 2010-2011.
  16. Whats with the NHL schedule? Its only mid November and the Canucks have already had 5 breaks of at least 3 days or more. Hopefully they ditch this schedule and get rid of the 8 games against Division rivals too.
  17. Sounds like it was an amazing game, with that win the Kings jump from 14h place to 7th, the Western Conference is so tight, hopefully it lasts. I think the Kings got a shot at the playoffs this year.
  18. really that's it for bieksa? i thought i read that he tore his achilles tendon pretty badly. it was pretty bizarre watching him crawl on the ice last night. i only saw the salo injury live. seeing blood spurt onto the ice like it did with him is never good. Bieksa tore his calf, not his achilles First reports were that his achilles was cut 60% of the way, then it was just his calf, then it was his achilles again and now they are saying its a small muscle just under the calf. Surprisingly the Canucks played pretty sold defensively against the Avs on Saturday. I had my doubts about Bourdon but he played solid.
  19. The Canucks are so screwed. Mitchell and Krajicek were already injured. Now Bieksa might be out for the rest of the season and Salo could miss 3-4 months. This season looks like a writeoff. EDIT: Looks like I overreacted. Salo out 4 weeks, Bieksa out 6-8 weeks.
  20. The Kings also made a good move and locked up Dustin Brown for 6 years at 3.175 per. I really like this kid. He is a great hitter with solid offensive potential.
  21. I still think they should have taken Turris, that kid is a monster. He's ripping up the NCAA right now. The Coyotes have an absolutely stacked future.
  22. Canucks suck. That is all.
  23. Labarbera is really playing well for them.
  24. Watched the Hawks vs Leafs game today. The Leafs D is horrible, the Hawks were skating rings around them at points.
  25. The Canucks need to learn how to play 60 minutes. It was really frustrating watching their defensive play at times last night. Bieksa played horrible, and it would be nice if Luongo could make a big save once in awhile. Btw love your sig, that goal was sick.
