  1. Woah, total distortion problems....Very odd looking screen...
  2. "You are watching MLB.TV. Commercial Break in Progress" Cool! I don't have to watch commercials!!!
  3. It's OK to kill the messenger! Aww Bruce..... we haven't killed anybody all day !!! Sheesh I'm sure Bruce knows we jest. In reality, Bruce is an invaluable member of our Game Thread community. Straight from the press box, he doesn't mince words and cuts through red tape!
  4. I really wish you'd bring better news Bruce. Like Jones sitting this game against a really tough lefty. Try better next time? :P
  5. What I meant was please sit Jones. And play Restovich.
  6. Dontrelle has held left-handed hitters to a .218 average over his career. Also, in 106.2 innings pitched vs. lefties, he's allowed only three homeruns. Restovich plz.
  7. Fearless predictions: Williamson pitches in relief tonight Marshall goes 6+ innings D-Train goes 7+ innings Juan Pierre steals a base
  8. I'm no mind reader, but what I think he's trying to say there is that Minnesota fans weren't so quick to turn on him and boo him like Cubs fans have so far(again speaking in generalities). Obviously we've been through plenty of thin, I think we as Cubs fans are frustrated and are real quick to take it out on people, fair or not. Yeah I realize that's what it meant, it just seemed a funny accusation to make against Cubs fans. IMO, Jones still has to prove to me he's worth the money. He signed a 3 year deal, and has to earn my respect. Whining in the newspapers is not the highway to this destination.
  9. I wondered why I felt so depressed after watching the game go the bullpen. Last year was still ingrained in my mind. Now we have a solid bullpen, and we can come back from deficits! If only the government was the same.... :P
  10. I have nothing to add to this thread.
  11. Woah, woah, woah. Burnitz played Gold-Glove caliber defense last year. And he really gave it his all every single day on the field. He ran through each single and groundout and really gave 110% every day. Don't be bashing Burnitz! When he comes to Wrigely, I'm gonna cheer really loud. That guy earned my respect. Which brings us to Jacque Jones. Yeah, we're probably being a little rough on him, considering Aram isn't doing any better this year, but that guy has been sucking it up recently. When you swing at the the first pitch after a four pitch walk to the guy in front of you, and it was out of the zone, that's just inexcusable. What else is inexcusable is Jacque saying Cubs fans aren't there "through thick and thin". Cubs fans? Aren't there through thick and thin? How much thinner can it get?!
  12. Figured it out!! And it was all on the MLB.TV FAQs.... #-o It didn't work until I unchecked all three. Sorry to burden the forum, you can delete this thread if you want.
  13. Oh, I see. I've had that problem recently with audio and video through MLB. I thought it might have something to do with my firewall so I made some adjustments and it worked (I also rebooted in between so I'm not really sure which one step cured the problem). Yeah, I'm behind my university's proxy server, but there's not much I can do about that. The thing is, some archived games work and others don't. Not only that, but the LIVE games work all the time. You'd think that if there was a problem, it would also occur in the live games.... :?
  14. Yeah, I'm trying to watch last night's game and it won't connect. (It's archived) It'll say "Connecting to media" for about 3 minutes, and then just say "Ready" and not play anything. ARGH.
  15. Ok, when I watch a game 'live' I have no problems at all. Really worth it in my opinion. But when games go on late like in LA or last night (late for me, I'm in England, we're 6 hours ahead) I pay for MLB.TV so I can watch them the next day. But it never works the next day. Not at all. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone else know what could be the difference between watching it live and archived that would make me not be able to watch this games? This is really frustrating. :x :x :x
  16. Stones in a heartbeart. The Beatles were way too preppy.
  17. Hopefully Dusty will sit Jones tomorrow. I just can't imagine him doing very well against Dontrelle Willis, deadly left-handed pitcher.
  18. Ditto, now I can sit back and enjoy the defense he brings....
  19. Won't be able to watch this one live....don't tell me what happens!!! Stupid exam tomorrow morning at 9 AM. :x
  20. Well if he's from the Rockies, we can expect he'll pitch better in Wrigely no?
  21. I think he has a 1.01 ERA against the Cubs at Wrigley. His overall ERA is affected, in part, by that really bad start he had in FL, last year, when he gave up 6 or 8 runs. I believe that was Muton's ML debut. You are correct. In the six times he's played the Cubs, four have been at Wrigley and he has a 1.01 ERA at Wrigley. Crap. :?
  22. I think I could only be catcher. At 5'10" and 185 pounds with a terrible bat, I'd be a poor man's Henry Blanco. Without the slapping of pitchers.
  23. mmm.......peanuts....
  24. I really think Willis is a bit over-rated and the cubs have always hit him rather well. Over the last three years he has a 4.64 ERA against us. So I think we have a better chance to win that game than you think.
