  1. only someone from Indiana or North Dakota would say that. Terribly mediocre.
  2. Players with 20+ years of service with the same franchise: Yastrzemski, Carl - Red Sox Robinson, Brooks - Orioles Musial, Stan - Cardinals Kaline, Al - Tigers Ott, Mel - Giants Ripken jr, Cal - Orioles Brett, George - Royals Stargell, Willie - Pirates Johnson, Walter - Twins Lyons, Ted - White Sox Feller, Bob - Indians (would have done it except for military service) Williams, Ted - Red Sox (would have done it except for military service) Yount, Robin - Brewers Biggio, Craig - Astros Gwynn, Tony - Padres Appling, Luke - White Sox Trammell, Alan - Tigers Faber, Red - White Sox Harder, Mel - Indians
  3. tremendous defense. props to them that inning.
  4. He is very, very screwed. There's not getting out of this now when the minimum is 3 1/2 years. He's pretty much guilty per se because there isn't really any question of fact here seeing as how he was obviously in possession of a firearm in light of the fact that, ya know, he shot himself.
  5. the prime rib cheesesteak at quiznos is truly a gift from the gods
  6. "you ok" "ya, just 146 pitches or thereabouts boss, I'm good" "ok"
  7. I guess that could work. Just see how it goes in Arizona. I'm all for trying to see how he handles it. Might need to lose some weight though.
  8. I bet those volcano nachos are just as hot coming out as going in
  9. Damn, Dusty is a big Beatles fan. Can't hate him as much now.
  10. I'm in favor of the Cubs scoring eleventy billion runs tonight and not even giving Gregg a chance to blow it. where there's the cubs, there's an epic fail just waiting to happen. eleventy billion runs won't cut it.
  11. green font??

  13. as much as I dislike him in the closer role, he isn't completely worthless enough to DFA. Cubs aren't that foolish.
  14. Nobody likes to lose. Most of these guys get to the bigs because they have great talent PLUS they love to compete. Very seldom would I argue that a player doesn't care. Some guys just show their passion more than others. Gregg isn't the type to spike his glove ala Lilly. But I can't imagine anyone just doesn't care when someone hits a 2,000 foot HR off them.
  15. I agree with this. Definitely don't want some big name closer. I just wish there was someone in our system better than Gregg. His 1.8 HR/9 is just plain awful for someone who is supposed to be trusted in close games.
  16. this guy is just totally unreliable. There's gotta be a better option. Hopefully Lou has had it.
  17. I'm watching it on Comcast. terrific, I have Extra Innings and it isn't on there AND I have the sports package and both the Comcast broadcast and the stupid Florida Sports channel has the game blacked out. Guess I'll have to rely on my THIRD option to watch the game: my MLB.tv subscription. Selig can suck it. I hate the stupid broadcast rules. Isn't charging people $200 a pop for EI enough to make all the games available? The blackout rules for mlb.tv are even more stupid than those used for EI. I'm in Mississippi and the stupid Reds are blacked out? Whatever.

  19. [expletive] [expletive], where is this game on DirecTV!!?!?!?!
  20. Jason Marquis just crushed Scott Rolen in the head with a fastball in the Rox/Reds game. They are pretty close friends apparently and as soon as he hit Rolen he fell to his knees and spiked his glove. Marquis subsequently fell apart and gave up 3 runs in the inning after giving up zero the previous 7 innings.
  21. yes Nunez, Koyie Hill, backup catcher for the Cubs, tried to spike your sorry ass. please
