[/bbvideo] the phillies, expected to contend due to signing the famous mormon bryce harper to a 13-year 330-million dollar contract during the off-season, have had a rough go of it in 2019. their record is 60-58 and 9 games behind the nl east division leading atlanta braves. with that said, they are only 2 games out of the second wild card spot. to get to the top, they'll have to leapfrog four teams (mets, brewers, cardinals and nationals). needless to say, they have a tough road ahead: [bbvideo=560,315]
[/bbvideo] cubs have quintana on the hill while the phillies give the ball to jason vargas. quintana hasn't lost a start since 6/22; he's gone 6-0 with a 3.67 era in his past 7 starts. meanwhile, vargas is 0-1 in 2 starts since coming over from the mets, giving up 6 er in 11.1 innings of work. he's old and looks like bobby abreu on uppers so let's hope the cubs light him up and toss his ass onto the curb: go cubs, motherfuckers!
