  1. Well we could have used hairston but he is resting and murton would have exploded if he faced a righty. Although novoa may have been availible after pitching last night
  2. WTG gremlin   well at least we took a chunk out of their lead lets stop em and get back at em with the meat of the lineup due up.
  3. Bare Bare plates a run as well. Lets go Sergio, be a stat monger and pick up some rbi's
  4. A little bit of Neifury to keep the rally going!!!
  5. There ya go Burny, tough act to follow ARam.
  6. Way to go MVLee!!!! Lets keep it going guys and get back in this one!!!
  7. Not sure if everyone saw it or not but Bruce Miles graciously squashed our hopes and dreams in the dunn trade thread.
  8. psst... neifi, glance back at the catcher during your at bat again. You will either get a hit or get hit, so it is a win-win...
  9. Does that mean it is time to go back to the dunn trade talk thread? If we dont get going this could be very painful to watch/follow.
  10. Our bullpen probably doesnt need that much work, lets let wood have at least 30 more pitches and then we will think about it.
  11. As has been stated before, if murton faces a righty he will explode
  12. As long as that is the only one he gives up tonight i will forgive him.
  13. For those that have had their head in this thread all day just thought I would throw in that Flip Saunders will be named pistons coach tomorow and teddy bruschi will not play next year for the patriots. Now back on target we still have 24 hours before our tip goes bad and as far as i am concerned as long as a player is on the roster then he is an asset to be used to win, not to sit because trade talks are going on.
  14. Looks like he wanted the all lefthanded outfield tonight. JHJ has been slumping a little lately (so has Burnitz) but Burny has more power potential so I think that may have had something to do with the decision. It is just a good thing that a slump at a ss position doesnt mean you sit or we would have had to watch cedeno start tonight (end sarcasm)
  15. Good Lord, you played golf in this heat?? Yes i know. It's very hot here in Louisville. I live in Jefferson County, you? You played too? I played 9 holes in Midland, MI today, where it's much cooler and was a beautiful day for my first time on the course this year. I shot an 11 over par 47. I don't think Tiger Woods is worried. How'd you do? I did horrible. I think I ended up like fifteen over par. Which is bad when the course is so small. I went with a friend, though. So we were just there for gits and shiggles. We had a good time. Yeah golf is more fun than I thought it'd be.... But back to Dunn - this deal is too good to be true. You would think so, but there are so many signs that keep pointing to yes. This trade is screwing with my head. I want to walk away from the cpu but i keep getting pulled back in by little signs of hope, (eg. dunn not starting, kearns brought up, two spots emptied out on the roster, gammons saying it isnt happening). Ah, the life of a cubbie fan. So much loyalty for a team that still sucks.

  17. Let me get this straight: -A new guy comes in with a new trade proposal of 3 for 1, -Peter Gammons says it isnt happening -Then the reds make moves of freeing up two spots on their forty man roster, and bring up a possible replacment for Dunn, -Also it rumored that Dunn may not play tonight, -Hoops doesnt shoot down the idea completly If this does not turn out to be true we will have our proof that there are divine beings that love to torture the souls of cub fans.
  18. Yep, about 15 pages ago... To save you the time, CUBZ99, of looking for it, I'll summarize: He didn't see it happening. We just need to get hoops back here with a firm yes or no so we can save hundreds of pages of posts.
  19. Not that i dont believe you S-E, but is there anything about this on the reds fan site?
  20. Well after reading all 8 pages of this thread I can see this prediction going either way. If it doesnt I wont flame I because I believe he really has a source. The deal sounds ok but I think there may be one more prospect in the deal but those three the big names. I would also love to find out what it would cost to get Kearns as well. An outfield of Dunn, Hairston, and Kearns along with an infield of ARam/Nomar/Cendeno/Walker/Lee/Barrett sounds really good to me and it would last for a couple of years at least. If we can pull off this deal and keep our starters (Prior, Wood, Z, Williams), bench (Holla, Neifi, Gerut, Grieve, Murton, Blanco) Bullpen (Wuertz, Demp, Novoa, G-Unit, Ohman, Williamson) then we have a nice core put together heading into this offseason. This deal could be the move that puts us over the top for years to come if we can lock them all up.
  21. Yeah darn those 14 game winners. While his stats may not be great (I havent even seen them) he has kept his team in the game long enough to have 14 w's
