    Levine just said that he'd be very surprised if the Cubs don't sign Edmonds. He's almost sounding like this is a done deal as he said the Cubs would move Fukudome up to 2nd in the order where Edmonds would bat 5th. And of course, Pie would be demoted to Iowa. Shoot me now, please.

    I don't understand why everyone is so down on Benson. Its not like he was put into a very good situation to succeed last year. What good is cutting him when he is at worst going to be your second best RB. Exactly. NO ONE would've been able to run behind that offensive line last year. Absolutely no one. LT would've been shut down running behind those tackles and guards. People have to understand that the offensive line is the MOST important part of the football team. Want to know why Tom Brady is so good? Look at all of the time he has to throw the ball. Any QB in the NFL could be a good quarterback if they have that extra second or two to sit back and read the defense. The same goes with running backs too. Give Benson another shot next year. I really thought he was much better than Thomas Jones was in 2006 and I still think that he could be a productive back in the league.

    water is wet. NBA PGs: Paul Williams rest of league isn't this writing off steve nash and tony parker a tad early? Nah, not at all. Nash is probably a half notch below Williams, but in my eyes, there's a sharp dropoff from there to where the Baron Davis, Tony Parker, Jason Kidd, Chauncey Billups, and Jose Calderons are. I still think Parker is better than Deron, but that could probably change as early as next year. I do agree that Deron's better than the rest of the guys you listed. What exactly is Parker better at than Deron? Well, you have to respect the fact that he's been the PG for three championship winners. He really wasn't all that great when he came into the league, but he's really become an outstanding player. His jump shot was always the weakest part of his game and he's turned that into a pretty good part for himself. I think it's pretty equal, but I'd probably take Parker over Deron right now because of the experience factor. You can make the argument that he's working around one of the best players of all-time in Duncan while the next best player that Deron has to work with is Boozer, but I just really like the way Parker runs an offense and his defense isn't too shabby either. I'm a huge Deron fan, so it's not like I'm knocking him.
